James Norbert Mulvaney, recently of Pittsburgh, PA died April 29th at the age of 77. Mr. Mulvaney passed after living with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases for many years. Mr. Mulvaney was the beloved and devoted husband of Mary (McManmon) Mulvaney, his wife of 49 years. He is also survived by his four children and their spouses, Elizabeth Mulvaney (Christopher Ramsey) of Pittsburgh, PA, Timothy (Andrea) Mulvaney of Richmond, VA, Kathleen Mulvaney (Andrew Feller) of Arlington, MA, and Shawn (Rebecca) Mulvaney and his seven grandchildren, Jamie, Abigail, Bronwyn, Dorothy, Benjamin, Tabitha, and William. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Jack of Spartanburg, SC, sister Joan (Gene) Johnson of Asheville, NC, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Lillian Mulvaney and his sister Carolyn.

Mr. Mulvaney was born and raised in Asheville, NC. He attended North Carolina State University where he studied industrial engineering. He then embarked on a career in manufacturing that took him and his family around the United States. Golf, playing bridge, and bowling were some of his favorite hobbies. Mr. Mulvaney was particularly interested in words, filling his time with books, games of scrabble, crosswords, and whenever possible a pun.
