Double or Nothing
First off, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for who participated last year. It was a HUGE success for our family and the organization. We couldn't have done it without your support!
This will be our second year participating at Moving Day, and I know it will be a bigger turnout than last year. We had nearly 60 people show up from our team! It was an emotional day for my Uncle Jim and our family. He was overwhelmed with joy and needed the positivity more than I can explain. The timing was perfect. Our family needs continued positivity while Uncle Jim fights against the progression of the disease. This event will provide the breath of positivity our family needs.
Movement is critical to combatting the progression of Parkinson's Disease and that's what Moving Day is all about!
You may be wondering, "Why Double or Nothing"? Well, when we were growing up, competition was fierce in the Sadar household. Whether it was volleyball, ping pong, or pool, Uncle Jim was never one to take it easy on his adversary. 50 push ups were the usual form of punishment for the losing side. As we got older, there were games when Uncle Jim would lose (although he may tell you otherwise). On such occasions, he would say, "Double or Nothing!" This wise move resulted in him winning the following match and getting away with doing no push ups. Now that I'm thinking about it, has anyone actually seen him do a push up...?
We are rallying behind our Uncle Jim once again in a walk for Parkinson's Disease. I want to show him that he is not alone, and we love him more than he knows.
50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year in the US. More than 1,000,000 people currently have PD. Research needs funding and your donations will help improve the quality of life for people living with PD through research or free exercise programs for people diagnosed with PD.
