Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page!
This year we walk in memory of :
Rabbi Jacob J. Greenberg served his community for 50 years as a pulpit Rabbi of Congregation Beth Tikvah in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, New York. He also served his country as a chaplain in multiple branches of the armed forces and retired as Colonel. Rabbi Greenberg was a powerful orator, and he counseled many congregants and hospital patients. He was well known for his presence and wit, as well as for his wisdom and kindness. He found ways to connect to everyone he met, and his pastoral counseling was a source of comfort to many. When Parkinson’s disease made it difficult for him to speak clearly, he shared openly about his feelings of frustration and shame with the loss of his gift of oratory. However, his gift of humor helped him cope with the increasing challenges of PD, and he soldiered on through his challenges, maintaining his independence for as long as he could. He will be missed by his family, his friends, his congregants, and the many people whose lives he touched through his compassionate support of individuals in need.
