Moving Day Kansas City - Virtual Walk

Dimmel Dimmel Dimmel

Dearest Dimmel Dimmel Dimmel Team Members:

These are extraordinary times in which we live requiring our very best humanity and the demonstration of human compassion, kindness and giving.  It also reveals the true resiliency of the human spirit as we all confront COVID-19 for the first time. We are heartened by the many selfless acts we have observed of “people helping people” over the last 7 weeks.

When we think of these remarkable qualities, I am reminded of my two brothers, Drew and Doug Dimmel, two kind, courageous and compassionate men who have dedicated their lives to helping others and who we honor with this team walk. But their fight has been different…against the disease of Parkinson’s.

As many of you know, my brother, Drew Dimmel passed away in 2017.  He suffered from Parkinson’s disease as does my brother Doug. Doug and I will continue to honor Drew as our Dimmel Dimmel Dimmel team VIRTUALLY GATHERS for this 10th consecutive year at Moving Day. (Click here to learn more about Drew Dimmel), https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4nDxf_uaKo&feature=youtu.be)

As we recognize the critical role, we each play in flattening the contagion of the COVID 19 virus, we are reminded of the need to “stay home” from large public gatherings and remain judicious in socially distancing. Therefore, MOVING DAY, our 10th annual benefit for the Parkinson’s Foundation Heartland will support our front-line workers and all of those risking their health to keep us safe in Kansas City with a Virtual Walk on May 9.

I serve on the advisory board for the Parkinson’s Foundation Heartland.  The needs for those we serve are the most fragile and vulnerable to illness during this time.   Moving Day is more than just a walk. It raises awareness and funds to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease and advance toward a cure.  This inspiring event brings together people of all ages and abilities for family-friendly fun and activities.  Moving Day highlights movement and exercise as symbols of hope and progress because of their essential role in treating Parkinson’s disease.

Please join Roger and me in honoring our brother, Drew and in supporting our brother, Doug by supporting our team.  We pray every day to find a cure and until we do, help us continue to raise awareness about this disease and generate funds to help continue and expand the work of the Parkinson Foundation Heartland.
