The Moore Movement- Son-in-law edition
I am participating in Moving Day DFW - Virtual Walk, benefiting the Parkinson's Foundation in support of the millions of people with movement disorders, and more specifically my father-in-law. My FIL is a mans, man. Always changed his own oil, rotated the tires on all his vehicles, rebuilt cars/trucks and resold them, rode a motorcycle, served his country by enlisting (twice), and literally built his own house. All the days chores topped off with a nice cold silver bullet. PD has changed all that. First its the little things that start to go- getting in/out of small spaces, manipulating tools, until eventually just getting out of a chair is a struggle. Meds help, but for how long? Depending on medication combinations, symptoms, metabolism, and how your body handles the meds, they can be great or of no help at all. In 2020, the question is why don't we have more help? More research? More in-home care? More caregiver support? That brings me to you, the Moving Day Virtual walk is about making more people aware of PD, what the options are, what its like to live with PD, and how we can work together to help those with PD live the best life they can. We appreciate any support, even $1 that you can spare during this crazy time.
