Support the Moore Movement! The Moore Movement, the better!
Hello! My name is Aimee and I am participating in Moving Day DFW - Virtual Walk, benefiting the Parkinson's Foundation.
I am moving in honor of my dad, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2015 and has been battling its symptoms each and every day. For my dad, Parkinson's disease first presented challenges with initiating movement, such as standing from a seated position and changed his otherwise, unremarkable gait to one characterized by short, shuffling steps. He then began having problems with rigidity, pain, and anxiety as he began noticing these changes occur. Over the past 5 years, his disease course has fluctuated wildly. From freezing of gait episodes to postural instability and balance problems, to blunted emotional expression, cognitive difficulties, and significant functional changes, it has been challenging to witness this decline. My dad has always been a tirelessly, hard worker, a devoted spouse and father, and a man with a heart of pure gold. Although Parkinson's disease has taken a lot from him over the past few years, I can still see his drive. His drive to live each day with this disease, despite the uncertainty it brings. His drive to be there for his family. His drive to do whatever he can to get through this- one Parkinson's medication cocktail at a time. But, it's not easy, and we need more support and research to help him live his best life.
Please consider being a part of my team, The Moore Movement, or sponsoring me or another Moore Movement team member. I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved! The event will be a VIRTUAL fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities like yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Support our mission to help every person diagnosed with Parkinson's live their best possible life NOW. Your gift will help us fund better research, better treatment and better lives. The Moore Movement, the better!
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the Parkinson's Foundation.
