Parkinson's Awareness Walk

April 25th, 2020

Welcome to the first ever Parkinson's Awareness walk in McHenry County. As my reign as Miss McHenry 2019 comes to an end, I wanted to create something that would truly impact lives in McHenry. In 2016, My grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. For those who are not aware, PD is a progressive neurologic disease. Watching my grandfather’s fight with PD inspired me to create this walk not only to support him, but for others who may be quietly fighting this battle too. Parkinson's disease takes a lot from people, their independence, their memories, and basic things such as taste. Supporting this Awareness walk means you support everyone fighting this battle, and the hope that one day no one else will have to fight it. Join us April 25th for McHenry’s Parkinson's Awareness Walk. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease. Thank you for supporting us and the vital work of the Parkinson’s Foundation. With awareness, there is hope for a future without Parkinson's disease.
