Moving Day Sacramento

Livin' La Levodopa

Hello Family and Friends!

Please join me in walking in the 2nd annual Moving Day Sacramento!

We had an amazing turnout for last years walk! It was wonderful to see everyone who came out to not only support me, but everyone else in the community who have been diagnosed with PD, many of whom I now call my friends.

Last February, I started a support group for young onset Parkinson’s patients. The YOPD group is growing(unfortunately) and there’s been a need for a support group in the Sacramento area for a long time. I’ve met may new and wonderful friends and we all get so much out of our monthly meetings. We started with about 5 people at the initial meeting and have now grown to over 25 members.

Parkinson’s research is making strides each year, all because of contributions from friends and family members who also want to see a cure to this disease.

I have committed to fundraising at least $1,500 for The Parkinson's Foundation, an organization committed to helping make life better for people affected by Parkinson's disease, as well as their families. Their support ranges from offering grants for research, funding specific PD related projects and offering resources for patients and caregivers alike. The more funds we raise, the more people they can help.

In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.

Join our team for the local Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
