Welcome to Gregory Polchow's Personal Page
Dear Friends and Family:
I am once again participating in the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day. The proceeds from this national event funds research to make the lives of people afflicted with Parkinson’s more comfortable–the disease is absolutely brutally debilitating, and ultimately fatal. Funding from this event also facilitates research to discover a cure.
So what’s in it for me, and why do I participate in Moving Day? Parkinson’s has personally affected my life in a most profound way. My second youngest brother has been afflicted with the disease for 16 years. It has effectively ruined his life. He’s lost his ability to work, to move or walk normally, to speak normally, or think normally. There have been times when he has to choose between speaking and breathing. Ultimately, the disease will probably make it impossible for him to swallow, and he will die. I’ve watched my brother go from a strong, athletic, handsome talented photographer, to a shadow of the person he once was–it’s heartbreaking. His youth was stolen from him. And yet, he maintains such an inspiring positive outlook on his life. He’s forever grateful for everything he has. He loves life. He humbles me.
I’ve established my own team this year for the first time, and my personal goal is to raise $10,000. I hope you will donate to this very worthy cause. By sponsoring me, your donations will help find a cure, but also fund research for treatments that alleviate the punishing symptoms of Parkinson’s that people like my brother endure every hour of the day.
Please join me in making a huge difference in the lives of so many afflicted with Parkinson’s. It will mean the world to those touched by the disease, and it will mean the world to my brother and me.
I am in the All Star Movers Club!
I qualified for the $1,000 Prize Incentive Level!
I made a personal donation!
