On November 10, 2013, I am participating in the Moving Day Walk at the Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. There will be a variety of activities geared for all ages and abilities, such as yoga, dance, pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and more to celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Fundraising will support the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA), which provides free group classes in exercise/aerobics, yoga, dance, choir, and communication for people with Parkinson disease. These efforts provide a way to recapture movement and voice as a healing and engaging practice, when those affected by Parkinson disease can sometimes feel like movement and voice have been taken from them. The PFNCA also advances public knowledge of Parkinson disease, and organizes support and educational programs for individuals with Parkinson disease and their families.
The PFNCA is a chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation which since 1982 has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area and the National Parkinson Foundation.
