Welcome to My Personal Page
I have served on the board of the local Parkinson's Foundation for over a decade now. I have seen it grow from a small volunteer only organization to becoming a staffed leader in information and education resources, collaboration, excercise promotion and social engagement for people with PD in the Rochester area and surrounding counties. More importantly, through my relationship with the organization, I have come to know and love dozens of individuals plagued by this disease. I have learned from each and every one of them and I am inspired by their courage and determination. I hope that through my support of the organization, I am able to support them and make their lives a little bit better.
To achieve our mission of making life better for people with Parkinson's Disease, we serve the local community through personal engagement, social connection, educational seminars and events, educational materials, helpline, collaboration with other communities, funding research and providing hope. None of this work is possible without recognition and funding.
The Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day walk, is a grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. I have participated in every Moving Day walk since it's inception in 2012. This year, I am hoping to up my game to see if anyone wants to join my team or help me raise the funds necessary to continue to improve the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease in our community.
