Moving Day® Boca Raton

Pounding the Pavement for Parkinson's

Welcome to our Moving Day® Team Page!

I sincerely appreciate the time you are taking to login to our team page and join our team, Pounding the Pavement for Parkinson's for the local National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) Moving Day® walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help NPF continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson's disease.

This year's Moving Day walk will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 8:30AM at the beautiful FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, FL

My husband, Paul Kelly, Jr., lives every day with Parkinson's.  He was diagnosed 8 years ago in his late 40's.  He was a Firefighter/Paramedic in South Florida for 34 years, however, he was forced to retire several years ago because of his Parkinson's. It broke his heart...he LOVED being a Firefighter.

He didn't let his diagnosis get him down though.  I beam with pride when I think back to his diagnosis day...what an emotional day that was......and how much of a difference he has made in the Parkinson's community since then!

He is on the Board of the South Palm Beach County Chapter of the National Parkinson's Foundation, on the Moving Day walk committee, he works out with other Young-Onset Parkinson's patients each week, and founded a Young-Onset support group for Parkinson's in Boca Raton!

I admire him for his courage to face each day with a positive attitude, gratefulness, a sense of humor, and a drive to reach out to others with Parkinson's and make a positive impact in their lives. He truly is my hero!

In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson's disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.

All the best,

Annie & Paul Kelly
