I was given the Honor of being named the Chairperson for the Moving Day Boca Raton Walk. As some of you know, my Dad, Alvin Perlin had PD for over 29 years before we lost him. My Dad fought like a lion untill his last breath. My Mom, my family and I wish that no one will have to suffer the same way. We will and have done everything in our power to help people with PD as well as any other affliction.
The name of our team is Team Moose, some of you know what this means and I will share this with all of you now as well. My Dad loved to play Johnny on the Pony when he was little. He was always the last person for his team and they called him the Moose. All through his life, his oldest friends called him Moose. He was always there for his friends and his loyality was his greatest quality. This is our time to give back and say thanks. This is for you Dad, I love you.
This year Moving Day Boca Raton, which benefits the National Parkinson Foundation South Palm Beach County Chapter, will take place on Nov. 10, 2013. The event will once again take place at FAU Stadium and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities; yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson's disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson's disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
