Dear Family and Friends,
I have been privileged to serve on the NPF SD Board for six years and for the past year as Interim President of the SD Chapter. I also facilitate a support group for PWP. Each year we are challenged by more that we know about this disease and more that we don't know. It still remains without a cure and is progressive. I am blessed by an outstanding board and an extraordinary Executive Director who see as their primary mission to look for ways to improve the PWP quality of life as they experience it. I invite you to join me in this annual event to raise monies to whatever it takes to address the challening issues of this disease and to servie this population of courageous people which intimately includes their family. This is a family disease.
I am participating in Moving Day South Dakota, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation South Dakota Chapter on August 23th, 2014.
There will be two concurrent events that day. One will take place at Sioux Falls Canaries Stadium and the other at Watertown Community Recreation Center. Moving Day is a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. As well as a walk we will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation. This is not just my goal but a goal which WE will reach together with your help and any one you can reach to join us. No gift is too small.
