I am participating in the Moving Day walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Orange County California Chapter on Oct. 12, 2013. The event will take place at Wiliam R. Mason Park in Irvine and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. It will feature a variety of movement activities including yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more to celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider becoming a part of our team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson's disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson's disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
In addition to being the Co-Chairperson for the Event, I am participating to support my wife Sharon who was diagnosed with Parkinson's over 11 years ago. Fortunately her disease has been slow progressing and her symptoms are minimal so far. But there are thousands of Parkinsonians all over the country and millions around the world who are not so lucky.
Thank you for doing whatever you can to help in the fight against this crippling disease.
