Greeting everyone! Wooooooo hoooooooooo, I have exceeded my goal so anything after that is gravy! THANK YOU EVERYONE, for helping me get there.
As I write this, it's been about 16 months since I was initially diagnosed with Parkinson's and I'm doing GREAT! I see my neurologist on a regular basis, I do my exercises (ish!) daily and just invested in an elliptical machine, I'm not on any meds, and so far so good! Right now I just consider this to be a 'nuisance' but I know this disease has the potential to become very debilitating and I'm going to do whatever I can to hopefully keep it at bay! So, don't cry for me Argentiina, just help me make my goal if you can! :-)
As I mentioned in my e-mail, I'm participating in Moving Day Twin Cities, A Walk for Parkinson's, on Saturday, May 3, 2014, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota. If anyone would care to walk with Harry and I, just give me a call or shoot me an e-mail. It's only 2.5 miles and a very nice walk. And this year it sounds like the weather will cooperate, SCORE!
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you so much for helping me exceed my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
