Welcome to My Personal Page

My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a few years ago.  Although his symptoms are not that drastic at this point it goes without saying that his symptoms will worsen.  He has been on and off the parkinson medications and the dosing has had to be adjusted related to all the side effects that he was having.   With help from others by their donations or participation more reasearch can be done on medications to help decrease the side effects or find more effective medications.   It is common knowledge that there is no cure, which does tend to make a lot of people depressed, but not my dad!  He has a very upbeat attitude and is taking this in stride. Not only do I see the effects that this disease has on my dad, I also work in the healthcare field and see the everyday effects this disease has on other people.  With your help we can make a difference in the fight against Parkinson's- even if it is to raise the awareness of the disease it ALL helps! In honor of my dad, Gregg Stimpert, I am participating in the Moving Day Walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota on May 4, 2013.

The event will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.

Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.

 Thank-you

Ann Matter

Why Get Involved

The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson's disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson's disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.

Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
