A few years back, my grandpa, David Vick, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The disease began slowly in his hands, but has since then progressed quite a bit. It's been hard to see one of the hardest working people that I know, someone that used his hands constantly in his daily life, being affected in such a way. Despites the challenges, he is still as dedicated to family, friends, neighbors, church, and work. He amazes me!
I believe that by participating in the Moving Day Walk, we are providing a fighting chance to not only my Grandpa, but to everyone that is facing this devastating disease. The donations go to supporting research and those currently fighting.
Please, please help myself, my family, friends, and others who are joining together to fight Parkinson's! Its time to kick some butt!!
Thank you in advance to all of you who take up this opportunity to put up a fight! It means the world to me and many others!!
I am participating in Moving Day Walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota on May 4th, 2013.
The event will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
