I am going to be participating in Moving Day Twin Cities, a walk for Parkinson's, on May 3, 2014, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota. Last August I was diagnosed with Early Onset of Parkinson's with relaxed state tremors. Along with a group of great family and friends we plan on walking and helping this cause to try and beat Parkinson's with whatever it takes. While trying to come up with a team name my youngest son said "Mom just be Team Shakey because you shake!" I must say that I like how it sounded and it really grew on me, I do shake and I don't try to hide it. So that is how I came up with my Team name.
I would love for you to consider being part of my team and if you can't if you would like to sponsor me or my team! I thank you all in advance and we all just need to keep moving and do "whatever it takes " to beat Parkinson’s!
The event will take place at Hilde Performance Center and Park and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
If you have any questions let me know and again thank you so much for your support, it means alot to me!
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
