I am very thankful to my sister Judy Figge and the numerous caregivers who support my father, Bill Austin, who lives with the challenges that many people face who have Parkinson's. I know he is very thankful to have his family's love and the support of his caregivers who help him live as safe as possible and with dignity in the comfort of his home.
Judy and I are both very proud of our fun loving father who can usually find a joke to tell at any time, inspite of often not feeling very well. Bill also served our country bravely as so many veterans did during various volatile periods. In World War II, Bill participated in a number of Pacific Ocean campaigns against the Japanese in order to take back many of the islands they took at the beginning of the war.

Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
