I am participating in the Moving Day Kansas City walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Heartland, on June 14, 2014.
Our family is walking/moving/dancing in memory of our amazing grandfather, Clarence R. DeGraeve. We lost our grandfather August 10, 2011. He had parkinsons... to watch him go from the active farmer, hard working, always at every event-grandfather to not being able to walk with our help of transferring him was a very sad progression to see him go through. We walk in honor of him. We know he would want us to help find a cure so that another family doesn't have to see the disease process, because grandpa was giver and never met a stranger. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids more than anything (except maybe grandma)...he called us his pride and joy.
So, Please consider a small donation in his memory. we are very grateful.
Angie and family
The event will take place at the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. A short walk route is available for all fitness levels (and is stroller- & wheelchair-friendly). We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities such as seated exercise, dance, the Parkinson's Experience and much more as well as celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation Heartland.
