Shakin' Down Parkinson's (+ Morgan), 1 ed., NYC Unity Walk
Shakin' Down Parkinson's, 2 ed.
The Denmarks and the Dardens are participating in Moving Day Atlanta 2014 in Cenntenial Park, Atlanta. This walk is to raise money for grass roots Parkinson's resources and to education the community about PD.
Yes, we're asking for money (for a great cause). But we're also asking for you to participate - join our team, start your own team, or show up on November 1, 2014 at Centennial Olympic Park anytime between 9:00 am and 12:15 pm for information and family fun! (Bring your kids' Halloween candy so you have energy to make it.)
There will be zumba, pilates, boxing, tai chi, tango, a kids' center, yoga, a caregivers' relaxation tent, and loads of great information.
Parkinson's is a mean disease. It does so much more than just make its victims shake. It slowly debiliates muscles, causes stiffness and paralyses, causes horrible cramps, makes swallowing difficult (and thus causing choking), impairs balance, weakens the vocal chords so patients can't speak loudly, impairs the ability to write, and yes, it can (and does) cause death.
HUGE strides are being made in the PD community to find a cure and to ease the symptoms. Please join us and contribute however you can - join our team, donate $5, donate $100, read about PD, come to the walk for 30 minutes to learn and have fun - whatever you can do!
- To become a member of our team please select the 'Join Team' link. We'd LOVE to have you!!
