I am participating in the Moving Day NC Triangle walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation on November 1st, 2014.
You may recall that Team Boot Scoot and Boogie was 1st created in 2012 to support the Unity Walk in NYC, where funding benefits Parkinson’s disease (PD) research. My husband Pierre, was 1st diagnosed with PD in May 2011 Since we live in North Carolina and because Pierre is very active with the Parkinson’s Community in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area as well as a Committee Chair for the Moving Day, NC event; as a family, we are redirecting our fundraising activities to support this event.
Moving Day will take place at Koka Booth Amphitheatre (Cary, NC) and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
