I am participating in the Moving Day Miami Walk for Parkinson's, taking place on Oct. 6th at Bayfront Park. I've worked for the National Parkinson Foundation for over three years, and have met some truly amazing people in the Parkinson's community. Help me make a difference - please consider contributing to the cause or join our team, Parke Diem.
As an added bonus, everyone who donates to my Moving Day fund will be entered into a raffle to win one of two FREE HOMEMADE PIES! I actually make pretty delicious pies, so this is an awesome incentive, trust me. Details below the rest of this text.
Moving Day is a fun, family-friendly (and dog-friendly!) event will take place at Bayfront Park and will be more than just a walk. One of the best things people with Parkinson's can do is exercise, so we'll have all sorts of "movements", such as yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and more. Are you wondering what Moving Day is like? Check out the video I created from footage of our three very first Moving Days!
This year's raffle will have two winners; each will win a homemade pie. Winners can choose from: Apple, Pumpkin, Blueberry or Pear. They are all delicious! Only people in South Florida are eligible for this offer - pies do not generally ship well. But if you live outside of South Florida, you can still donate and know that you are helping a great cause!
Some information about the great things NPF offers:
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson?s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson's disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of chapters, Centers of Excellence and support groups. NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
