I am participating in the 2nd annual Miami Moving Day Walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation on Oct. 6, 2013. Kim's Kickers started off our fundraising campaign in May with the help of Pop Corns and Flanagan Key Club. Our "PopCorn for Parkinson's" fundraiser was a huge success with donations by Pops Corn (Lee and Lonnie Feldman) and Flanagan Key Club.
The event will take place at Bayfront Park and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. There is a children's pavillion with many activities for the kids.
We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives. This year, the walk is slightly longer for those that want to walk a little longer (about a mile).
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson's disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson's disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Through the help of the NPF, this year we have started a Young Early Onset PD group in Broward County. With their help we are trying to organizing more activities that will keep us moving, educate the community, medical field, PD patient and Caregiver, and developing a support team. Together we can make a difference now, in my life, my families life, and everyone that is so that when a cure for Parkinson is discovered we will be strong and healthy.
Please sign up to help us today. We hope you can join us for Moving Day on October 6th at Bayfront Park.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation
