I am participating in the Moving Day NC Triangle Walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation on November 2nd, 2013. I was recruited to lead a Moving Day team while at the Duke University 10th Parkinson's Symposium this past June. North Carolina is lucky to have wonderful hospitals like Duke and UNC that are dedicated to researching and treating Parkinsons patients.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved. Many of you may know, my mom Stephanie, has been living with her 'uninvited guest' for about 25 years now! Please consider coming out on Moving Day and help support not just my mom but everyone living with Parkinsons. I'm setting the bar high - my goal is to raise $500.00! Please consider donating $5.00, $10.00 or as much as you like!
Moving Day® is the National Parkinson Foundation’s annual fundraising walk event. It is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that unites families, friends and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. This celebration of movement will feature a family friendly walk course, a kids area, a caregivers relaxation tent and a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc. all proven to help manage the symptoms of PD.
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
