Saturday, April 11, 2015

***We want to thank our Team Captains, Walkers and Supporters for the incredible response in allowing us to reach, first, our original goal of $100,000 and now our stretch goal of $125,000 for our inaugural Moving Day® Tampa Bay event! On behalf of our planning committee and NPF, we are thrilled the momentum continues to build but know we can't stop here. In the spirit of setting our aim even higher, we have established a second STRETCH GOAL of $150,000! We look forward to celebrating with all of you on April 11th at the University of South Florida.***

About Moving Day® Tampa

Rasheda Ali coming to Moving Day Tampa

 Rasheda Ali

Rasheda Ali is walking with us on April 11 at Moving Day® Tampa Bay! Rasheda is the daughter of Muhammad Ali, former champion boxer living with Parkinson’s disease. She is also the author of a children’s book about Parkinson’s disease.

“As an advocate and family member of one touched by Parkinson’s, I believe in what the National Parkinson Foundation’s Moving Day® event has accomplished,” says Rasheda. “This inspiring event empowers individuals and families to meet the challenges of living with Parkinson's disease through active participation in walking and other movement activities.”

Team On The Move!

TEAM SAPP - Captain Gayle Sapp

Gayle walks in honor of her father, Bill Sapp, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) in 2009. He is in the later stages of PD but is a fighter who is handling his diagnosis and medical obstacles with strength and grace. For more on this GREAT team click here

People Who Move Change The World.fw.pngMoving Day® is the National Parkinson Foundation’s annual fundraising walk/run event. It is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that unites families, friends and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. This celebration of movement will feature a family friendly walk course, a kids area, a caregivers relaxation tent and a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc. all proven to help manage the symptoms of PD.

It will be 'A day to move, a day to move others, a day that moves YOU!'
