I am participating in the Moving Day Columbus walk, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation Central & Southeast Ohio Chapter on September 28th, 2014.
I am walking on behalf of my Aunt Lea who was diagnosed with Parkinson's at a young age. Having seen her persevere through the many challenges and triumphs, like undergoing deep brain stimulation, I am inspired by her. I am raising money to help fight this awful disease.
I have also recently met a doctor who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's and has been a great inspiration on what kind of doctor I want to be. Although he may have had to give up performing surgeries, he still sees his patients in a clinical setting and plans to do so for many more years. He is someone I strive to be like as a future physician, never giving up on his patients and doing everything he can to help them.
Please consider donating anything you can. Every dollar amount helps and I appreciate your love and support!
The event will take place at The Columbus Crew Stadium and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Why Get Involved
The National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) continues to bring help and hope to the estimated one million people in the United States, four to six million worldwide, who are living with Parkinson’s disease. NPF is the only organization with a singular focus on improving the quality of care in Parkinson’s disease. NPF programs reach more than one million people a year through its network of 39 chapters, 43 Centers of Excellence and 900 support groups. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $180 million in care, research and support services.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
