National Parkinson Foundation: Keep on Moving!
Moving Day® Kansas City

Heartland Chapter

Welcome to the Heartland Chapter Moving Day® Team Page!

In the United States, 60,000 new cases of Parkinson's disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD.

The Heartland Chapter serves individuals with Parkinson's disease, their familes and friends in the state of Kansas and Western Missouri through expert care and research.  Everything we do helps people actively enjoy life with their friends, families, children and grandchildren until there is a tomorrow without Parkinson's.

Join our team for the local National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) Moving Day® walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help NPF continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson's disease.

The day will include family friendly activities that promote movement which is the one thing that research shows slows the progression of Parkinson's.  There is a walking route for everyone; from a flat wheelchair/stroller accessible 1/2 mile route to a more challenging 5K route.  Join us at the Liberty Memorial on June 10 and support our fight.
