The event will take place at the National Sylvan Theatre (Washington Monument Grounds) and will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Please consider being a part of my team or sponsoring me, and I encourage you to get your friends, family and coworkers involved.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease April 2015, I was experiencing problems way before seeing a doctor. My best friend kept telling me to see a doctor. I was in denial of knowing that something was wrong. It was a very trying moment for me and my family. I have difficulty getting dressed, folding clothes or making a sandwich. Walking became a problem for me along with having resting tremors causing problem with sleep. With God, my family and my doctors I'm able to a lot more. I'm able to work part-time as a cashier which I love doing. At times I forget that I have Parkinson's because of the help I have and the medication I'm on. But it does show its ugly face and knocks me down. I have read some many life stories of people dealing with PD and its scary at times that there is NO cure for this disease. That's why I think this is so important for me to be involved in, to feel that I'm not going to take this laying down. That I show my family and friends that I'm a strong happy loving person. Thank you all, love ya!
