This will be our 2nd year participating in Moving Day® North LA County , benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation, on Saturday, April 29, 2017. As many of you know, my sister Carolyn (Gloudemans) has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and we are doing all that we can to help find a cure!
The event, taking place at Valencia Heritage Park (Santa Clarita), will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
This year, our family is also celebrating Carolyn’s 10 year anniversary of being Cancer Free! She was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma in April 2004. Carolyn received aggressive chemo treatments and a Stem Cell Transplant placing her into remission. Unfortunately her cancer returned and on April 7, 2007 she received a Bone Marrow Transplant (my sister Lynn was a perfect match). She has been cancer free ever since! This walk is a way for us to help support Carolyn and the National Parkinson Foundation find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease, but also a celebration of her 10 year anniversary of being Cancer Free!
Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated. Many of us have raised money for different events and we all know that every donation (no matter how big or how small) DOES make a difference. If you would like to join our team “Carolyn’s Cruisers” and participate in the walk on April 29, go for it! The more the merrier! You will see a “join the team” link on my donation page.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
Wishing a happy & healthy life to you and your family, sprinkled with love and Irish blessings!
