I am participating in Moving Day® San Francisco, benefiting the National Parkinson Foundation, on Sunday, May 7th, 2017 in memory of my Dad, Guy Ferris.
The event, taking place at Justin Herman Plaza, will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. Come join me as the walk is beautiful along the water front and before hand there always some really interesting warm up activities including yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives. Dancing to Bruno Mars a couple of years ago and singing along with the folks from Beach Blanket Babylon last year started my walk off with a big smile on my face!
My Dad lived life with a smile on his face most of the time. In the last years of his life as he was confined to a wheelchair and in a nursing home the staff called him smiley. No matter what a raw hand he was dealt he took the time to be pleasant and friendly and occassionally left the nurses laughing with one of his random comments. We miss him.
Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal to support the vital work of the National Parkinson Foundation.
