04/08/2024  My father, David, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in July of 2023. While he has just won a short battle with Pancreatic cancer, the symptoms from Parkinson's disease have been unforgiving and unrelenting. My mother, Miriam, has been his primary caregiver during his recent health struggles. I have seen firsthand the challenges the disease brings for someone living with Parkinson's and the adversity for a loved one that is serving as their caregiver.
12/05/2023  My dad has been battling Parkinson's Dementia for 10 years. I want to support him and my mom who is the caregiver
11/09/2023  My grandfather fought Parkinson's before he passed away. I try to donate every year in honor of him.
04/04/2024  My father passed away from Parkinson's 6 years ago.
10/27/2023  I lost my dad to Parkinson's this year
02/08/2024  My significant other's mom has Parkinson's and I'd like to help!
11/09/2023  My partner, Austin, his grandfather unfortunately passed to Parkinson's. I have had the honor of meeting him and would like to raise funds in memory to help others.
11/18/2023  my dad passed away from parkinson's
11/28/2023  I recently came across a video of someone who was running for Parkinsons and immediately became interested. My father was diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons almost 3 years ago. My whole community has come together to support him. Over the past year or so I have become more and more interested in running. I will be running my first half marathon actually this week and I am already signed up for the Disney springtime surprise 10 miler. I have wanted to find a way to support my dad through the things I love and this would just be amazing to be able to run for him.
12/12/2023  My Grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinsons when I was a teenager. He used to come to all of my high school cross country and track meets.
01/20/2024  My Grandmother, Carol, has lived in the Bronx her whole life and has Parkinson's. She is a fierce advocate and I am doing thing for her.
02/05/2024  My grandfather passed away from Parkinson's a few years back. We shared the same name and he was a big influence in my life. I want to run this race on behalf of him and help to find a cure to Parkinsons.
03/04/2024  My mother was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's
03/15/2024  Father with Parkinson's
03/21/2024  I am a recreational therapist who has been working directly with seniors, some of whom are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and have directly seen how movement in the form of health recreation can benefit and bless their lives. I am interested in running in the NYC marathon this fall to bring more awareness to my community here out west, specifically in Utah and Arizona.
03/28/2024  Earlier this year, I lost a family member who was battling Parkinson's.
04/04/2024  My dream is to run the NYC Marathon so I started to research the fundraising options. When I saw Parkinson's Foundation my heart almost stopped. It was like a sign. I lost my father 3 years ago, he had Parkinson's for almost 30 years but he was a fighter. He enjoyed life to the fullest even with all the challenges that come with the disease. One year before he passed away, we had the best time in Thailand (we are from Brazil but at the time I was living in Thailand with my husband), he was falling a lot but it didn't stop him even for a minute! He was such an inspiration for everyone around him! I would love to be part of this community.
04/04/2024  Me and my wife have a dream to run NYC marathon. We started looking for fundraising to support and we found out about Parkinson's Champions. My father in law had Parkinson for 30years. We lost him 2 years ago. Since I have met him he had Parkinson, and although he had so many difficulties in his day by day live he was a thankful person. So, we would like to support the cure for Parkinson's disease because we know from personal experience how hard it can be.
04/05/2024  One of my best friend's mothers has Parkinson's, Vanessa Soper, and spending time with her, learning about the disease, and seeing the difficulties it causes, as well as the strength it takes has inspired me to run for Parkinson's Champions.
04/29/2024  I am a first time runner at 63 yo beginning this journey this past November and running my first half marathon on 5/4/24. I only recently felt far enough along to try to enter the Chicago Marsthon for 2024. My husband has had unrelated hand tremors for a while which has made me interested in your charity. Thank you for your consideration.
05/02/2024  A friend of mine ran as a Parkinson's Champion last year. That is how I learned about it. My Grandma has Parkinson's so I want to do a race in her memory and raise funds to help others.
