12/07/2023  Prior to having children, I ran 2 Marathon's for the Leukemia Society. I raised money via personal conversations and email, exceeding my goals. I know that fundraising is more sophisticated these days. I have experience with online fund raising sites. My wife raises funds for Save the Bay a local swim event in RI. I've assisted her with her fundraising and fund raising page. I have a strong network of friends and community members that I will reach out to for donations and will make my own personal donation.
04/18/2024  I plan to raise the minimum through family, friends, and my running community.
09/18/2023  I participated in many co-curricular clubs in high school as well as college, and as a result, have considerable experience with fundraising. Growing up, I remember volunteering at the usual - bake sales, car washes, auctions, merchandise stands for sports games, carnival games, block parties, etc. During COVID college, we had to get creative to fundraise for virtual events and came up with ideas like virtual "swag," Zoom tutoring sessions, sending gifts in the mail, exchanging company sponsorships for resumes, "silent" auctions, and more. I believe my close family (especially those who have seen my grandpa struggle so closely) and friends will generously give their support. Outside of their kindness, I have started to brainstorm additional out-of-the-box, fun ideas. I am known to be the chef-friend, and want to pair up with another close friend who enjoys cooking to host a "benefit" dinner party, where participants (friends) pay to be wined and dined with a delicious home-cooked meal. Another idea is to offer tailoring services for my friends and family, since my grandma and grandpa started their own tailor shop when they immigrated to America and I spent a considerable amount of my childhood there (they had to close it a few years back due to my grandpa's disease). Of course there are always tried and true ideas like bake sales, garage sales, and thrift sales to organize too :)
08/23/2023  For my previous races I fundraised through social media, friends and family connections and my work community. I plan to fundraise the same way this time, including donating myself.
05/07/2023  Woodworking crags and bake sales
03/21/2023  I raised 1000 in less than a week for Falmouth road race in 2022 using social media, email, work colleagues and word of mouth. I work in healthcare and have a large network of support for fundraising
01/31/2024  I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2018 for Salute, Inc. and had no issues meeting the fundraising targets. I am and well connected to people willing to support this. My family would also absolutely donate since we are personally connected to this cause. I am also prepared to, and plan to personally donate to this.
07/01/2023  American cancer society
03/28/2024  2019 TCS NYC Marathon: over $4,000 2023 Boston Marathon: over $10,000 I have an extremely supportive network of friends, family and coworkers. Beyond just posting on social media, I plan to host fundraiser events in my city, run giveaways and match a number of donations myself.
04/11/2023  I've raised over $3k for the nyc marathon
05/21/2023  In the past I have utilized social media and word of mouth to help with my fundraising efforts. We've always met and exceeded our goal!
04/03/2024  I have run several races and always exceeded my fundraising goals.
04/16/2023  I am a member of the Moving Day Committee for Sacramento and I am the co-captain of the UC Davis Health team (also a sponsor). I will fundraise with my family and friends.
03/23/2023  I have fundraised for PD before. I plan to make a call to action to all of my friends, relatives, and associates to continue their support in raising awareness for Parkinsons' Disease.
02/21/2024  Previously, I have organized my own fundraisers to help The Parkinsons Foundation. One Mother's Day I planned a fundraiser selling rubber bracelets supporting people battling Parkinson's Disease. All proceeds I donated directly to the Parkinson's Foundation. I was also a part of a sorority in college where we committed time in efforts to multiple philanthropic events. I plan to raise the minimum and more by utilizing my degree in digital marketing and networking amongst friends and family to help spread the word on how people can help. I plan to organize a social media plan that will offer donors a closer look at how Parkinson's impacts lives and why I am so passionate about running for the Parkinson's Foundation.
01/30/2024  Use of FB and Social media
11/06/2023  I have a large and generous network of donors who will make this goal easy.
10/11/2023  I have fundraised in the past for the Parkinson's Foundation, the Alzheimer's Association, and St. Jude. These amounts have been anywhere from $250 - $2,000. If selected to be a Parkinson's Champion, I will plan on reaching out to my family, friends, coworkers, members of my dance team, etc. to raise funds first. If this does not work, I plan on hosting a dance fundraiser to fundraise the money.
11/07/2023  I primarily use social media and have found great support in that.
04/11/2023  Personal Donations
08/09/2023  I used social media last time and plan to do that again along with my family and friends who can help bring awareness to this cause. I was successfully able to raise over $5,000 on my fundraiser in 2021.
01/12/2024  I have participated in several Team in Training events for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, including the New York City Triathlon. I plan to raise the minimum for the Falmouth Road Race through social media and possibly holding a fundraising get together with family and friends.
12/07/2023  I am not super experienced with fundraising, but given the personal nature of my connection w/ Parkinson's, I am comfortable asking my family and friends for donations. I will also post links on my Instagram and LinkedIn - I have been generous with others who do this in the past, so I expect they will be in return. My network includes a lot of runners who I think will connect with this story. Finally, I am comfortable donating money myself given the expected level.
05/04/2023  I was successful in raising beyond the minimum amount for Big Sur 2023, and will have no problems with fundraising for Disneyland 2024.
10/17/2023  I have far exceeded the fundraising totals in my past two race fundraisers
03/28/2024  While I do not have any charitable fundraising experience, I am a research scientist by profession, so I write grant applications to convince people of the worthiness of my goals so that I don't starve. So far, that's come out to about $3M successfully awarded. As for this, I do have a Facebook and Twitter account, and I have family, friends, and co-workers - many of whom do not know that I have Parkinson's. I was planning on going public with it this year, and this is as good a cause as any when I do have their attention.
11/08/2023  I ran the New York City Marathon in 2021 for Odyssey House. I used social media and GoFundMe to raise money. I will also use my family and friends to help spread the word and raise money.
04/02/2024  I have raised tens of thousands of dollars for Parkinson's through this fund
09/24/2023  I ran the marathon in 2022 (signed up too late no room with Run4PD I tried) and raised well over the amount needed to run. I also have raised money for my classroom the last 6 years as an nyc special education teacher!
11/06/2023  My past fundraising experience is fundraising for charity events through email and social media outreach. I plan to meet the minimum by also asking for donations in lieu of gifts during the holiday's and special events.
10/11/2023  In addition to the Big Sur in 2018, I have participated in AIDS/LifeCycle three times, each time raising more than $3,000. I would meet (and hope to exceed) the goal for this event through a combination of direct asks via text and phone, social media posts, and email messages to my friends and family. I work in the non-profit and advocacy space and have lots of experience raising funds for myself and others.
05/09/2023  I am very comfortable fundraising. I raise almost $5,000 per year for my hometown Thanksgiving race to raise money to combat homelessness every year. I am on the board of Girls in Tech New York City, I raise from friends and family and utilize my broad professional network.
04/11/2023  I have raised money for Team for Kids the past three years! Ranging from $5 -10k. This year I would like to run for a charity that hits closer to home.
02/16/2024  I have raised around £40000 for various races I have done for Parkinson's charities so far. I would try to raise $3000-4000 for this race ideally with family and friends in the US but will do what's needed if the minimum is more.
09/19/2023  I raised money by posting on social media like Facebook, Linkin telling folks what I am running for. I would like to do a fitness class to raise money as well- like a charity workout.
09/07/2023  Professionaly, I work in social impact and philanthropy. I have extensive knowledge in crowdfunding, development and fundraising. I succeeded in reaching almost $5k in 2022 and I feel like I can go even bigger in 2024. I am deeply moved to raise funds and be a part of a positive change for the Parkinson's community. I believe this will help me reach my goal with ease.
10/14/2023  In the past I've been been able to raise the minimum funds for Parkinson's along with partaking in the nation wide spin rides. I believe that with the knowledge and other fundraising techniques that I have learned along the way this will be my best year yet!!
10/27/2023  Team BomberStrong raised almost $4,500 in the 2022 NYC Half and we plan to beat that in 2024! https://secure3.convio.net/prkorg/site/TR/Champions/General?team_id=53591&pg=team&fr_id=3758
11/06/2023  Raised near $5,000 in 2022 for TCS NYC Marathon. Plan to use the same methods to meet and exceed fundraising goal (social media, email blasts, word of mouth, fundraising work out classes, etc.)
10/06/2023  I raised over $9,000 in 2022 for the Parkinson's Foundation by utilizing my support network of friends and family and spreading the message and mission of the Foundation. I plan to reach out to my support network again and encourage them to once again contribute to this important and personal cause.
05/03/2024  I raised over $10,000 for Parkinson's Champions in 2022 and am planning on reaching out to similar friends and family members to facilitate similar donation numbers.
11/08/2023  I have fundraised for the past 17 years for an annual event I hold in honor of my son who passed away at 21 while studying abroad in Australia.
12/09/2023  I am riding with the Parkinson's revolution ride in NYC this February
12/08/2023  I have raised lots of money for various charities including Parkinson's Champions. I have an excellent employer who is willing to support my efforts. I will also hold charity golf days and gala dinner events.
11/11/2023  I have some prior fundraising experience but more in a team form. I plan to fundraise through my job, my string run family/community, and through social media to get the word out, do some possible fun giveaways with donations if allowed.
10/17/2023  I have did fundraising yearly for American Heart Walk.... And this disease has touched all of my family in different ways. I will have no problem wi th the fundraising portion.
10/12/2023  Over the past 6+ years, I have worked with an organization that is near and dear to my heart called Tides Family Services, that provides services to at risk youth. As a board member, I have successful ran my own fundraising campaigns amongst family, friends and my social network to receive donations and contributions for the agency. I have experience in event management as well as hospitality and I am confident that can plan an event where the proceeds of the event will cover at least the minimum amount needed to raise. Also back in 2012 while working for the New York State Laborers as a Communications Assistant, I assisted in the planning of our annual golf tournament that raised over $50,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York. This year, I was the point person for a fundraising walk to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI. I created all of the events marketing material, reached out to potential sponsors to pledge their support, secured donations as well as plan all the day of event logistics We were able to raise close to $25,000 to directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of RI. Also though the organization I work for, I coordinated and executed the distribution of over 1500 backpacks over the course of 7 different Back To School backpack distribution events. It was both humbling and rewarding to see the power and impact these events have on uplifting our local communities. I can provide a resume of my work experience supporting the information above if requested.
04/20/2024  I have fundraised previously for several races and events. For the Philadelphia marathon I fundraised over the minimum and plan to have a higher goal for NYC! I have previously used a "go fund me" link that I shared on social media, I also plan to raffle off sports tickets in a raffle, utilize local business in Boston whom I have worked with previously to hold fundraising events with proceeds of funds being donated and ask friends and family personally for financial contributions and support.
03/28/2024  My past experience of raising funds in 2022 for Parkinson's Champions was a good experience in that the Parkinson's staff were very helpful and supportive. I was excited to raise funds for Parkinson's due to the loss of my father to this disease. I plan to use social media to assist in fundraising, as well as my many community contacts that I have accumulated through the past several years via my community service.
04/28/2024  Fundraised twice for this race
03/31/2024  Previous ran for Chicago Parks. Company I work for does contribution matching , so should be easy to reach $1000
08/23/2023  Family and friends, social media
07/28/2023  I have participated in the Falmouth road race, pan mass and other events in support of Dana Farber and have had no trouble getting to my commitments. My husband and I also run a non profit for our daughter who suffers from a rare disease.
05/02/2023  My most recent fundraising experience was for the 2022 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon as a Parkinson's Champion. In one month, I was able to raise $3,260 with help from family, friends, and a personal donation. I offered to match up to $300 as well as held a raffle for all who donated to win a personalized cross stitch. I would plan to fundraise similarly in 2024; however, with more time, I would be able to coordinate events such as a percentage night at a local restaurant or brewery.
02/08/2024  I previously ran in the St. Jude Half Marathon which required fundraising. I accomplished this primarily through word of mouth and social media posts. For the NYC Half Marathon I would fundraise similarly via word of mouth and social media -- also to raise awareness and education about PD!
06/08/2023  I was thrilled to create a team for the Parkinson's Foundation Revolution CT event by encouraging our movement disorder providers, nurses and volunteers to participate. We were a small group, but we were successful in raising funds and awareness for the Parkinson's Foundation! I personally raised over $500 (I cannot recall the specific amount) and each of my team's participants also raised funds. This was my first fundraiser and I intend to grow my skills and re-double my efforts to support this amazing organization.
10/03/2023  I achieved my fundraising goal this past March, and raised over $3,000. I plan to reach out to friends, family, and coworkers to fundraise. I also plan on spreading the word over social media, in hopes of bringing awareness to the Parkinson's Foundation and their values.
11/26/2023  Exceeded my fundraising goal last year. Plan to raise money through events with friends and family.
11/06/2023  I have fundraising experience from the Boston marathon, Chicago marathon, and various cycling events. I have always met my minimums and usually surpassed them. I would love to use the momentum from my most recent marathon to continue fundraising. I am experienced in letter writing campaigns, use of social media, and fundraising events.
03/18/2024  In the Fall of 2022, I ran the Cambridgeside Half Marathon in Massachusetts and raised money on my own. I ultimately raised and donated over $2000 by leveraging personal connections and telling my mom's story in a respectful way.
05/01/2023  I have previously raised over $10,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. I ask for donations within my sports community, the hospital/clinic, and among friends and family.
12/30/2023  Last year, I doubled my goal of $1,500 to $3,000. I was able to raise funds through social media and my network of supportive friends and family, as well as garner the support from my dad's network as well. Parkinson's Champions empowered me to share my dad's story with my new network of people up here in NYC, in turn raising awareness and prompting PD conversations with people who may not have been as aware. In college, I also helped raise funds each year for Girl Scouts of America and PCAA (Prevent Child Abuse America) at quarterly fundraising events for each organization.
11/08/2023  I raised $2373 for the 2023 Chicago Marathon Parkinson's Champions. I will rely on the same people as well as an extended community in Tucson and ultra running to raise this year.
04/18/2024  Raised $1500 for my last race. Posting on social media and direct outreach to family and friends
11/15/2023  I fundraised for and ran the Chicago Marathon in 2023 so I feel comfortable with the fundraising experience. I work for a large medical center who sees a lot of neurologic patients and plan to reach out for support from my colleagues. Additionally, I have several close friends who have loved ones diagnosed with PD.
08/25/2023  I have raised funds for organizations in other races that I have participated in, such as the Denver Colfax Marathon. I have also volunteered at fundraising events. I plan to fundraise by personally connecting with those I know will be interested, and sharing the donation options on social media, emails and events.
05/05/2023  Will self fund for this race. Have fundraised for different organizations in the past, ranging from $1500 to $45k.
03/28/2024  I previously raced for Team For Kids at the 2022 NYC Marathon and raised $2,700. Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to hearing from you!
10/26/2023  Ripley and I are connected to diverse networks of potential donors, including in our local running community. 10/17/2023  Huntsman Cancer half marathon
12/03/2023  In college, I played a role in fundraising for my Greek organization for all 3 years as an active member. For this race, I plan to share my fundraising on my social media, with my family, as well as with my colleagues.
11/29/2023  Leveraging corporate matches and family and friends
03/10/2023  asdfasdf
09/26/2023  No past fundraising experience (except for popcorn sales via Boy Scouts!) Plan to raise funds by posting on my socials (Linkedin, Insta) and posting in my company's internal newsletter
03/13/2023  I am currently running for Autism Speaks and my team is the third largest fundraising team for the Walt Disney World Springtime Surprise 2022 Race. I have used the online Fundraising Page for this effort.
03/13/2023  fghgfh
03/13/2023  Jeubvd
03/13/2023  I work for a school so I have some fundraising experience with school. I plan to raise over the minimum fundraising goal by reaching out to the multiple avenues that I have connections with. I have two jobs, volunteer with two different organizations, and have a lot of family and friends that I will reach out to in order to exceed the fundraising goal.
03/13/2023  In the past, I ran and did fundraising with Train to End Stroke. I have already began talking to friends, family, co-workers, and church members about supporting my fundraising efforts for this race. I also plan to use social media and check to see if I can get fundraising support from the company where I work.
04/09/2024  Colleagues and friends.
03/13/2023  I am a professional fundraiser (political)
03/13/2023  I've fundraised for a few things in the past (successfully) and usually take a customized approach. People respond well when it's personal to them.
03/14/2023  I previously ran for RMHC in the 2019 Chicago Marathon
03/14/2023  I ran with Team for Kids in the past and was able to raise over $2500. I used social media and contacts through work and community organizations to help raise the funds.
03/14/2023  This will be my first fundraising since a March of Dimes I participated in many years ago but since then my network has grown. I plan to fundraise via social media, my healthcare connections and my family
03/14/2023  I have raised money in the past for Courts for Kids, Make a Wish and a local food kitchen that my grandpa helped start called The Blanchet House in Portland, OR. I also work for a non-profit organization (ASPCA) and grew up a member of the National Charity League. I understand the importance of donations and I am not someone that feels uncomfortable asking people for money when it's going to such an important cause that I feel passionate about. I plan to far exceed the minimum fundraising amount by reaching out to my amazing network of family, family friends, and friends - many of which know Dan personally and would be excited to donate. I also plan to use my social media presence to share my fundraising page and garner more donations through followers.
03/14/2023  In the past, I have only participated in fundraising events for grade school and high school in which social media platforms were used to bring awareness to the cause and recruit funding from family and friends. Today, I would use similar methods to raise funding; however, my network has since grown and I now have a cause that I truly support, am knowledgeable of, and care for.
03/14/2023  I have donated pieces to silent auctions and plan to create and advertise my pieces for those who donate. I paint one of a kind pieces such as kids wooden tables, chairs, rocking horses...
03/16/2023  I've never officially raised money as part of a race, but I have run for Parkinson's support groups near me in unofficial capacities. I used to work for a non profit and fundraising was part of the role. In my experience, raising money is about having connections and asking people to reach out to their networks for support. Ones family and friends are a good support, but often have limited ability to help, so getting involved in the community and reaching community and business leaders is very important.
03/17/2023  I have participated in fundraising events throughout my collegiate career at the University of Michigan where I was engaged in numerous events for disadvantaged and disabled children in Detroit. I would plan to use my network across the University of Michigan, my professional network and my extended family that was close to my grandfather.
03/17/2023  I don't have any pst experience fundraising, but I am lucky to have a large support group who I'm sure will share in helping me raise money. If there's a minimum I don't reach, I'll cover it myself.
03/17/2023  I have fundraised for one Rundisney race this year. I plan to share over all my social medias, friends and family, along with craft sales.
03/17/2023  I have fundraiser for 4 service trips (fully funded based off donations) through my church. I am familiar with different fundraising platforms and writing letters to friends and family. I am eager to learn more!
03/18/2023  Have organized fundraising events for college; will ask friends and family
03/19/2023  Through family and friends effected
03/20/2023  I previously worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society as a campaign manager for our endurance training program pre-covid. 03/22/2023  I don't have much fundraising experience but I will be active in getting my friends in high school and family involved with donations.

03/30/2023  None. Information about disease, bake sale, raffles...
02/28/2024  I've fundraced for races before but without a minimum or with a smaller minimum. I have a large social media following and am active in many online communities, local running community in Baltimore, as well as my network in my hospital. I plan to have people donate to adopt a mile, make bracelets to sell, possibly have a bake sale , and reach out to a local restaurant/bar for partnership.
11/24/2023  I've raised money years ago for Make a Wish via a 30 mile hike. I also raised $4k on my 40th birthday for Para Guide which is an organization that provides guides and access to training for visually impaired runners. 04/03/2023  This would be my first time
04/04/2023  I have helped to fundraise for church as a kid and for various school projects/events. I'll use my social and work networks to raise money, which is typically how I've done it in the past.

04/05/2023  Most recently I help raise $25,000 for the Special Olympics of North Carolina. For the marathon I would plan to host fundraising events at school (Duke University) as well as ask the community to donate to sponsor a mile on my training runs.
04/06/2023  I worked on political campaigns as a campaign manager and it is a large part of the job.
04/06/2023  I have run and raised money in the past for St. Judes and No kid hungry. I plan on raising funds from my friends and family and followers on social media.
04/10/2023  2 years ago I did the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge fundraising for The Autism Community in Action. I decided to do the challenge spontaneously a week in advance with a fundraising goal of $500 and raised over $1400 in just over a week and a half. I believe I can attainably beat the minimum for the 2023 NYC marathon. I have a strong network of friends and family that are attentive to my social media, charitable, and will share my fundraising page to spread more awareness. They've loved seeing my fitness journey since Covid hit the states and have been supportive from the start.
04/12/2023  I have participated in charity runs/walks since middle school, during which I've raised money from family and friends. Most recently, I have participated in Cycle for Survival and raised money for Memorial Sloan Kettering. I would plan to raise the minimum by reaching out to friends, family and the broader community, and exploring my company's corporate matching opportunities. My 30th birthday is also coming up and foregoing gifts in lieu of raising money for a cause I care deeply about would be a great way to honor this milestone.
04/12/2023  I have done fundraising for mission trip in the past Online, church, my clinic
04/13/2023  I've not fundraised before, but I feel confident my family, friends and workplace will help me more than meet the minimum! If needed, I'll pay it out of pocket.
04/14/2023  I am a professional fundraiser. But I did already sign up but I wanted to combine both the dumbo challenge and the 5 K. Thank you.
04/14/2023  Outreach to family and friends.

Over the years, I have worked with a variety of donors, from alumni to corporations, to raise funds for scholarships, research, and other initiatives. To successfully fundraise for colleges and universities, it is essential to create a comprehensive development plan that includes a range of strategies and tactics. If given the opportunity, I'd reach out to friends and family who know and love my Dad. Because it's such a personal cause, I'd make a lot of personal asks- not just sending out mass forms of communication (but I'd definitely do that too!). 10/24/2023  We have a large family and lots of friends who will help us reach our goal!
10/25/2023  I have found the most success with having my entire family post the link to my fundraising sites on their individual social media pages in order to spread awareness at a larger scale.
10/25/2023  I have fundraised in the past and have been successful. I am currently a registered nurse and plan to work within my health care network to raise money.
10/25/2023  I have hosted fundraisers through my company and believe that I will be an asset to the 2024 Champions Team by tapping my social and professional networks for financial support.
10/29/2023  I plan to fundraise through family donations and from my employer, which matches employee donations.
10/31/2023  I raised $1,400 for cancer research in the Columbus Ohio Pelotonia Bike Ride in 2019. I plan to reach out to family and friends, post on social media, go door to door, and possibly do a fundraiser sale. I will research other ways to fundraise as well!
11/02/2023  I have been involved in community service and fundraising ever since middle school. In high school, I was the president of community service, helping organize and execute various school-wide fundraisers, and was the leader of a 501c3 non-profit that raised more than 5k for concussion research through hosting sport tournaments. For this race, I plan to personally reach out to my extended family and friends who saw my grandfather suffer and are also committed to combatting Parkinson's, maximize my social media presence and solicit donations from friends and followers, as well as host various dinners, pot lucks, and themed nights at my apartment for my friends to come to if they donate a certain amount. I am eager to fundraise for a cause I'm so passionate about and running with Parkinson's Champions would be a meaningful way to engage myself with the community I'm so dedicated to supporting.
11/03/2023  My family and friends know how important my grandmother is to me and are incredibly generous people - I know they'd support this cause. I also come from a family of runners who have done multiple fundraising races, so I understand the commitment required.
11/03/2023  I have fundraised for various organizations, especially for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a group that provides legal representation and advocacy for children in foster care. I have raised thousands of dollars through creative methods, such as gift card raffles, social media challenges, and outreach to friends and family through social media. I plan to use these strategies and more to raise the minimum amount required for Parkinson's Champions. I will also share my personal story and motivation to run for my grandma - I am confident that I can reach my fundraising goal and make a positive difference for the Parkinson's community!
11/03/2023  I work with a nonprofit called the HouSe DC and started a 5k for them. Would fundraiser through email, Facebook and insta
11/04/2023  I am a kindergarten teacher. I have written grants and raised money for my classroom and students through organizations such as Donor's Choose and Beyond the Books. I plan to ask friends and family both in the community where I as well as in others areas across the country. I will use social media to reach out to potential donors.
11/05/2023  I have not had many experiences where I have had to raise money recently, but I am very committed to raising money for this cause. In addition to friends and family, my workplace offers a full charity match and I am also in a very fortunate spot where I will am able to contribute myself
11/05/2023  I've participated in a few fundraiser while in college for childhood cancer research. I've already got a few family members that are willing to donate in my name. I'll also be asking friends and coworkers then any remaining amount to the minimum I will donate myself.
11/05/2023  For the race I plan to run next year, I plan to fundraiser through our current support system we as a family have and beyond that.
11/05/2023  I was part of the Washington Commanders Foundation Executive Council where we raised over $500K annually. I have also raised nearly $40K representing various nonprofits at the London, NYC, and Boston marathons. Being included in the charity team for Parkinson's in the 2024 New York Marathon is not merely a gesture of goodwill for me; it is a commitment to a cause that is close to my heart. I am devoted to raising both awareness and funds to support cutting-edge research, innovative therapies, and essential resources for those living with Parkinson's. Through this marathon, I aim to channel my energy, time, and resources towards creating a positive impact in the Parkinson's community. As a dedicated and motivated individual, I possess the qualities necessary to excel as a member of the charity team for Parkinson's. I am committed to putting in the hard work and training required to complete the marathon successfully. Additionally, I have a strong network of friends, family, and colleagues who are eager to support this cause. Through various fundraising initiatives and awareness campaigns, I believe I can make a significant contribution towards achieving the team's goals.
11/05/2023  I have been a part of Make-A-Wish for over four years now. I have raised over $500 for them through different websites and organized events. For this race, my plan is to build a website and design a shirt for my friends, family, and peers to donate to and share with others. Working in a hospital, I have the ability to communicate with a lot of healthcare professionals that have witnessed this disease and will feel motivated to donate.
11/06/2023  I worked on many fundraisers before. I worked with Larry King for his Larry King Cardiac Foundation raising money to help others without insurance. I was on the board of Debbie's Dream Foundation for stomach cancer.
11/06/2023  I recently participated in the Bike HSS cycling fundraiser and raised $2,500. My plan to fundraise for my races is to reach out to the people who know my father and will be supportive as they have seen the struggle he goes through. This will include my extended family, our family friends, my dad's hospital (Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC) and his coworkers there (surgeons, nurses, physicians assistants, etc.). These avenues are where I expect to receive the bulk of the donations. I will also reach out to all my friends and their families who know him and my coworkers. I will have my two siblings do the same as well.
11/06/2023  I help raise money every year for another amazing non-profit (Homeless Solutions in Morristown, NJ) and have been involved with fundraisers in the past for my high school and college soccer teams. I have a very strong personal and professional network, many of whom I have donated to in the past during their own fundraising efforts, that I have no doubt would be happy to support this cause. Via personal outreach and social media I am extremely confident in my ability to fundraise.
11/06/2023  In the past I have raised money for THON (The largest student run philanthropy in the world dedicated to raising funds for childhood cancer). I was an independent dancer and combined we raised over $15,000! I plan on reaching out to friends, family, small business, and community ties to help donate towards the cause. My grandfather was a well known community member so I know some organizations would be interested in donating as well. I also plan to cover a part of it is it is something that is close to my heart.
11/06/2023  During college at NYU, I was an active fundraiser for the B+ Foundation. The B+ Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. Each year, NYU Greek Life hosts the New York Dance Marathon to benefit the B+ Foundation as a way to engage the NYU community with an in-person event and bring awareness around families impacted both emotionally and financially by pediatric cancer. Each year from 2017-2019, I raised between $500-$1000 by reaching out to friends and family members to donate to the cause. Should I be accepted to run the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon with Parkinson's Champions, I would fundraise actively through my social media to engage my friends and other connections to donate to my personal fundraising page linked through my social posts. I would also reach out to family members through personal messages via text, email, or Facebook and share my connection to Parkinson's Disease and passion for fundraising for this specific cause. Lastly, I work for a small company that is generous in supporting causes like these, so I would go out to my team with a sincere email asking for donations. I have witnessed my colleagues fundraise for their respective charities this way!
11/06/2023  I have limited experience in fundraising.
11/06/2023  I just recently ran NYC marathon with Fred's Team, raising money for cancer research at MSK. I picked breast cancer research after my mother was diagnosed in August. I was able to raise over $5,500 for Fred's Team! It was such a rewarding and challenging experience and I definitely want to do it again. My goal for the Parkinson's Foundation would be to match or beat my Fred's team donation.
11/06/2023  As a recent graduate, I was extremely lucky to be chosen for a fellowship with a family foundation as my first "adult" job. I have been involved with small fundraising opportunities throughout high school and college for various clubs, but since starting this position I have been introduced to the world of philanthropy and non-profit fundraising. Many philanthropically-minded people that I have met through my job would love to personally support me in this endeavor. I have had many family members, friends, and coworkers pledge their support for my race. I also plan on using my social media accounts to raise awareness and money.
11/07/2023  I have a large professional network in NYC and have helped raise money for school benefits in the past.
11/07/2023  In the past I have been on fundraising committees, one of which raised over $100k for pancreatic cancer. I plan to use my networking skills from working in corporate client services along with generous friends and family donations to raise money.
11/07/2023  I've worked very closely with the American Red Cross to raise money over the years through social media, door to door communication and fundraising events.
11/07/2023  I've raised money for the AHRC which is a foundation that creates access and opportunities for over 4,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities across Long Island. I plan to raise money through my social media platforms, family/friends, sending it out to the sororities/fraternities at my school (The Ohio State University), etc.
11/07/2023  -Personal Outreach: I plan to reach out to my network of friends, family, and colleagues to explain the importance of supporting Parkinson's Champions. Personal connections can be very impactful in motivating people to contribute. -Social Media Campaigns: I will use my own social media platform to create awareness and share regular updates about my training and fundraising progress. -Personal Donation: My family plans to make a large donation as well so that we meet the fundraising requirement.
11/07/2023  I know my family will donate a lot towards this, and already have not related to any races, just from watching my poopoo struggle with this disease. I also think social media is a good tool to use to spread awareness and take action.
11/07/2023  My goal is 3,000+.
11/07/2023  I plan to fundraiser through my corporate connections and my supportive family and friends.
11/07/2023  I have run the Paris marathon in 2015 raising $12k in honour of my mother who had breast cancer. I also ran the London landmarks half marathon raising funding for miscarriage awareness. This year (2023) i ran the NYC marathon with a group of women in my sector and we have so far raised >$30k for charity.
11/07/2023  Friends and family
11/08/2023  I was a girl scout for 15 years of my life and participated in many fundraising events that have given me knowledge on how to meet and goal successfully. As well in college I was apart of a sorority where we raised thousands of dollars across multiple charities and organizations including St. Judes Children's Hospital, Colorectal Cancer Alliance, NRV Cares, Girl Scouts of America, Prevent Child Abuse America, and the Children's Hospital of Richmond. My plan and where we saw a lot of success in my sorority is to share on my social media platforms. I am fortunate to have over 25,000 followers on tiktok where I plan to do a lot of my fundraising. I believe I can be very successful in raising the minimum about for the NYC Marathon.
11/08/2023  Minor fundraising, but my company Optum matches donations and is very involved in the community
11/08/2023  I began distance running just 1 year ago and have since completed 4 half marathons. I have not yet fundraised for a race but know that I have inspired others to begin their running journeys. I feel confident through the generous donations of family, coworkers, friends and bystanders I can reach my goal.
11/08/2023  I fundraised for the NYC marathon through Team Fox in 2021 and 2022. I raised over $15,000 for Team Fox while running the NYC marathon with my brothers in honor of our dad. Additionally, I have substantial experience raising money for youth and club sports organizations that I have been a part of or coached. Highlights include spearheading my club lacrosse teams $50,000 fundraising campaign as a senior in college. My plan would largely mimic my plans from past years, which wereextremely successful. I would once against focus on an email and letter campaign to friends, family, colleagues, and specific organizations. My dad is also a huge help and reaches out to his network. In addition, I would more heavily utilize social media campaigning and direct solicitation to foundations My hometown newspaper also kindly does a feature piece in the sports section to help get donations.
11/08/2023  I have raised money for many charity races and I work for a non profit!
11/09/2023  First time fundraiser :)
03/12/2024  Last year I ran in memory of another late family member and raised money through family and friends.
11/10/2023  Small fundraisers throughout my life. I plan on using social media, my personal & professional network, and my place of employment for fundraising.
11/10/2023  I have been a fundraiser my entire life as a Girl Scout! Ha! Other than that I have fundraised $2,000 while partaking in The Dempsey Challenge. I would be using social media, family & friends and reaching out to local businesses.
11/10/2023  Team for kids for United half
11/10/2023  In addition to working at Johns Hopkins, I currently work part time at Orangetheory Fitness in their studio located in Olney, MD. Here, we host occasional donation fitness classes, where anyone can take a 90-minute workout class as long as they have donated $25 towards the cause the class is dedicated to. 100% of the proceeds go towards the cause. In the past few months, we have raised money for research towards a cure for Rhett's disease and paired with the American Cancer Society to raise money for their breast cancer campaign. These classes typically raise over $1000 each. I plan to advertise and host a donation class for Parkinson's champions with the help of my colleagues and friends at Orangetheory Fitness!
11/11/2023  Here in New York City I am involved in the Greek Community where I have volunteered and provided items for auction though The Hellenic Initiative. This community has been very supportive of me, and many know the story about my grandmother. Additionally, in college I was heavily involved with the ALS foundation, where we raised awareness and funds for Lou Gehrig's disease.
11/11/2023  I work as a fundraising director. I will connect with friends and family.
11/12/2023  I plan to raise funds by asking friends, and family.
11/12/2023  I was the co-ounder of a 501(3)(c) charity called Students Against Sarcoma when I was an undergraduate student. We raised over $7,000 for a student in high school with an osteosarcoma in his knee to help alleviate the financial burden of the medical costs. I helped organize fundraising events, designing/selling shirts, and went to his high school where I spoke to his classmates at an assembly. Additionally, I have over 1500 followers on instagram where I plan to post pictures/express that I am running the Eugene half and am raising money for Parkinson's Champions. This was successful in the past for Students Against Sarcoma. Lastly, I would let all of my Physician, PT, OT, and SLP colleagues know that I am raising money for Parkinson's Champions and I am certain I could raise money for Parkinson patients that we treat everyday.
11/13/2023  I will be working within my community and on social media. I love posting on social media and I always get donations and views from my tik toks. I also know several small businesses that love to donate and support this cause.
11/13/2023  Self-funded.
04/10/2024  I was development lead for TeenWorks in past. I plan to use my company match, ask friends/family, and have sales of artwork/crafts and bakery items to raise money.
11/14/2023  I have not personally fundraised in a few years now, but I had success using social media. I have a very supportive family and friend group, and I feel very confident I will be able to crowd source enough help via social media and family and friends to meet the goal.
11/14/2023  I've completed multiple stair climbs for the MS society in the John Hancock building of Boston, climbing 60 floors in complete firefighter bunker gear to fundraise money for a cure. I am also a professional firefighter and am familiar with the need of fundraising for charitable organizations, as I've engaged in boot drives for the MDA, and assisting the local union with fundraising events.
11/15/2023  I have raised for a medical mission trip in the past by writing letters to friends and family and by promoting it through my social media.
11/15/2023  I plan to raise the money utilizing my network at work and my friends. As I plan to donate as well, it should prove easier to get others to donate too. Some initial ideas include using goal times as an accelerator to raise even more than the minimum goal (e.g. a pledge of $100 and an additional 50% if I run the race in under 3 hrs 30 mins)
11/15/2023  I did fundraising for my sorority for four years in college. I wrote letters and participated in fundraising events. I will raise the minimum for my races by getting my friends and family involved.
11/15/2023  This will be the first time I have participated in a fundraiser of this kind. I am very fortunate enough to be a pilot for Alaska Airlines. I will be utilizing Alaskas generous charity programs to help raise money for this race. Alaska will match dollar for dollar up to $1,000.
11/15/2023  I have not participated in previous fundraising activities. However, in this particular case, i would like to raise money by increasing the awareness of this disease, let people know my Grandfather story as well as my personal working experience in PD research. I want to convey the extraordinary importance of raising money, which is ultimately what's driving more research and has enable the work of many laboratories/foundations to reach next steps in the clinical approval of new therapies for PD. Practically, one way i would like to approach this would be to organize seminars/Q&A online where i can invite colleagues and people who had been affected by PD or know someone with the disease. In this way, showing both sides, the research, the efforts that are currently happening in the PD research field and the human aspect of the disease, i think we can bring on board more people in this cause.
11/15/2023  Social Media- I will be turning 40 the month before and plan to ask for donations for my birthday. I have a great friend/work out group who I am confident will help me get to the finish line of 2k.
11/16/2023  I have done a annual fundraiser for Swim Across America and have met all my goals in the past and hope to continue that here with parkinsons.
11/16/2023  My family participates in Swim Across America every year, raising money for cancer research. I have been fundraising yearly for the past 8 years, and I plan to reach out to my extensive network of friends, family, and acquaintances via social media and word of mouth.
11/16/2023  Will be funded via sponsors and community
11/16/2023  In high school I soley founded a club called Share to Care. This club recruits volunteers during lunch time to sit around the cafeteria and if any student had food they were not going to eat they can donate it to our club. Any student who needed an extra snack or meal throughout the day could stop into the office and pick up a free snack. Occasionally, we would fundraise within the club for larger programs that combat student hunger as well. We would do that through social media promotion and presenting or making announcements during class periods. Since then I have done numerous fundraising events through promotion on my socail media, all which have gone well. Lastly, I have many friends, family, and coworkers who have all expressed interest in donating.

11/17/2023  I have fundraised with team for kids for the 2023 NYC Marathon and raised money by talking to friends, family, and coworkers about the cause as well as having yard sales letting people know what all proceeds would go to. I plan on reaching out to local businesses too.
11/17/2023  I have been an independent musician and songwriter for many years, and have used the power of music to raise funds for many events in the past, including a Battle of the Bands when I was very young to raise money towards my home town's new community center build, putting on shows for various charities over the years, and helping use resources like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo to raise funds for recording projects. My father (John "Jack" Black) and I plan to use resources like social media, fundraising events, and donating proceeds from music merchandise to sales to help raise money for the race.
11/21/2023  I have never done this but willing to learn .
11/23/2023  I have raised money numerous times for the church which I attend. I can raise the minimum easily through friends and family, co-workers, and I am willing to simply satisfy the minimum myself.
11/23/2023  I've run and raised funds before. I plan on approaching family and friends as well as companies.
11/24/2023  I have been fundraising for many years with many different organizations, whether that be for my sorority, school, my church, and mission trips. I plan to raise money by reaching out to friends, family, and peers. I also plan on using my social media pages to spread the word. Additionally, I will ask friends and family to share my race and cause with their friends and family. I am super passionate about the Parkinson's Foundation, and raising money for them would mean the world to me.
11/25/2023  I have been encouraged by many people to do something for PD research and awareness. I think running a race would be meaningful. Plus there are a lot of connections in the PD space that I would like to explore.
11/26/2023  I have experience fundraising. My family has been biking the Pan-Mass Challenge ever since I remember and thrown fundraiser parties, opened raffles, and created marketing for the cause. I also served as the fundraising chair for my college club team (raising $3,000-$15,000/ year). I have no worries that I will have trouble raising the minimum for the TCS NYC Marathon. I have friends and famiIy that would undoubtedly want to support both my father and I. I have followings on Facebook and Instagram which I plan to share Parkinsons Champions on. I have inquired with my company to do a match on total donations. I can also personally financially ensure the fundraising minimum - just in case.
11/26/2023  Have done >15 endurance events for charity. Boston marathon 2-3x charity, multiple triathlons MMRF Team in Training, Alzheimer's, MGH, Boston Children Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute

11/28/2023  Social media, family, friends.
11/28/2023  I've planned many fundraisers for MS Rocky Mtn Chapter and Hope Shines through my networking of generous folks and hiking community here in Colorado raised funds.
11/29/2023  I have raised thousands through family and friends. I have a big network I can tap into.
11/29/2023  I was a Girl Scout for many years so I have some experience fundraising from that, as well as having done some fundraising for an animal rescue group in high school with a school club. I have a pretty supportive community of friends, family, and coworkers so I feel confident in being able to raise the minimum with their help as well as advertising it within places I frequent.
11/29/2023  I have never done. A fundraiser before, but i plan on a lot of support through friends, family and social media.
11/29/2023  I don't have much fundraising experience in recent years. I do have a strong social network, being a member of a fraternity at the University of Oregon, as well as close connections with family and friends back in California. I would start with family and friends back home, especially my grandma. She's one of the most outgoing people I know, and I would help her spread the word through her communities, such as the local church. Also, I would connect with my Twelve Bridges community, where my dad was the principal of the local elementary school for 5 years, and my mom is an active member in social groups. I would spread the word through social circles back home. At Oregon, I have a group of 5-6 friends who I run with, and would need no amount of convincing to help me in the cause. Alongside this, I have fellow brothers in my fraternity that have already made plans to run in April. I believe that with the help of one of my good friends who is the philanthropy chair of the fraternity, I could make the fundraising for the marathon the official philanthropy event of the fraternity.
11/30/2023  I have fundraisers for female refugees in the Middle East, reached out to family members and friends alike and raised $4,763. The cause means a lot to me and I am dedicated to reached the $1750 goal in time for the race.
11/30/2023  The only fundraising I've done was for my high school football team and I was #2 for my team by going house to house for hours a day for a few days and raised over $300 selling discount cards to my neighbors. I have the grind and resiliency to achieve my goals.
12/01/2023  Through personal and family contribution as well as working in the architecture and design community in new york city, I've amassed a large network of professional acquaintances, vendors and salespeople always looking to sponsor things both for great causes and their own marketing use. I don't foresee this being a deterrent.
12/01/2023  Reaching out to my community and hospital team.
12/02/2023  I have no idea
12/03/2023  I have previously fund raised independently for Oakland Children's Hospital as well as educational organizations. I believe my family, friends and professional network will support this goal and get me past the minimum fund raise, however I am also able to cover the costs should my network not contribute as this is a very important and personal cause to me
12/03/2023  This year I helped raise funds for The Red Socks Run https://fundraise.kidney.org.au/event/red-socks-run/donate that my dad (despite being on Kidney dialysis) participated in, running 60km over the month of October. My husband and I work at tech companies, with kind colleagues who are always keen to donate to good causes. We're also part of tight-knit running and fitness communities in Brooklyn who often support others running for charity in races throughout the year. I plan to raise funds for Parkinson's Champions by: - Setting up a fundraising page that will share my Mum's 10 year's with Parkinson's + me becoming a half-marathon runner to honor her - Making my own donation to kick it off - Asking supporters for a specific amount like $10 for every year Sue has had Parkinson's for a donation of $100, or $3.80/mile, for a $50 donation. - Posting the fundraiser on social over the holidays, as well as my birthday in February to ask for the gift of donations - Working with friends with high social media followings to post the fundraiser and bring awareness to the Parkinson's Champions Charity. Anything I don't make up in public fundraising, I'll cover myself but I know between my generous friends and great running community I'll make it easily!
12/04/2023  I'm an avid fundraiser for my children's school, and plan to use social media to get donations.
12/04/2023  By donating
12/05/2023  I've done online fundraisers for other causes, and they were very successful.
12/06/2023  I plan on fundraising through family, friends, and community
12/07/2023  I don't have a lot of previous fund-raising experience. But I will utilize GoFundMe, colleagues from work, and neighbor's/friends to meet the requirements.
12/07/2023  I don't have any fundraising experience for races; however, I have experience fundraising for work to provide meals to our community.
12/07/2023  I have raised money in the past for similar events, such as for the Northwestern University Dance Marathon. Fundraising is an unfortunate part of my job, and I have experience raising funds from businesses, colleagues, friends, and family. I plan to reach out to my personal connections as well as use my social media to fundraise as well.
12/07/2023  I plan on reaching out to my family, friends, and others in my community to help raise this money. I also work at a Neurology clinic right now and I intend to use these resources. I have raised money in the past in smaller amounts for charity organizations, and I am excited to take on the bigger role of raising money for Parkinson's for the Chicago Marathon.
12/07/2023  I work as a school social worker and participate in various fundraisers. I also have experience with fundraising for Dance Marathon and Relay for Life in college. I am surrounded by a supportive community.
12/07/2023  I was great at selling girl scout cookies however this is my first time fundraising for a race. I am deciding to do it as this will likely be my dads last full marathon and Chicago is his favorite marathon he has run to date! Hes done a full ironman, a half dozen half ironmans and over a dozen full marathons, we also have family in Chicago including his mom.

I will utilize social media outlets as well to get the word out about the fundraising and meaning behind it.
01/12/2024  I have done the Choc race before. Plan on doing a Facebook fundraiser
01/12/2024  I have never fundraised for a race BUT I have plenty of experience in the community on how to fundraise. I have been involved on committees for our school's PTO and our school district's education foundation. I am a member of Rotary and fundraise to improve our community. I am an eye doctor, and I love donating to the community from my business and am a leader in my profession as Secretary-Treasurer of our state association. MOST importantly, I have a close running group that will help back me in this endeavor.
01/13/2024  I've raised money for charity the last 2 marathons
01/13/2024  Social media, friends, family.
01/13/2024  4 Avon Breast Cancer Walks Parkinson's 200 mile ride in June I will use social media and personal communications to solicit donations
01/14/2024  I ran the 2019 Boston Marathon for the Dana Farber team in honor of my mother and raised over 10k. To raise the funds for this, I will use my network of family and friends (and their company matches) and also host a fundraiser. My family (immediate and extended) are a huge supporter of my efforts.
01/14/2024  Facebook shares, selling goods...
01/17/2024  I walked 5 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer walks that I had to raise $1800.00 each for and was always able to raise that and then some. I did a lot of online fundraising as well as taught photography classes, t-shirt sales, fundraising nights at local restaurants, and can drives.
01/17/2024  Social Media, people who loved my grandma, whatever I can
01/17/2024  I have ran for several charities and I am experienced in fundraising. I have hosted many raffle giveaways, received both monetary and in kind donations, and hosted multiple charity events. I feel very comfortable meeting fundraising goals and would need minimal assistance.
01/18/2024  Previously raised for London to Brighton
01/18/2024  While I have never fundraised for a road race before, I spent many years in high school and college fundraising for various community events. I was a director of my high school's Interact club (a Rotary affiliate) and took part in a school-wide fundraising effort in college during the George Floyd protests of 2020. I find that honest appeals combined with clear commitment are a huge help in galvanizing donations and support. I plan to utilize social media, personal connections, and family contacts to bring in support from a wide range of sources (college and high school friends, family members, co-workers, etc.). I'm not afraid to be vocal and persistent to raise as much as possible!
01/18/2024  I've raised funds for the American Cancer Society, The Pull-Thru Network, Sophie and Madighan's Playground, and others. I use social media, fundraising drives, and various in public meetings to raise.
01/18/2024  I fund raise for a living.
01/18/2024  I was involved in a fundraising club during my time in college called Colleges Against Cancer. In my final year, we raised over $20,000 through Relay for Life and campus activities. I plan to raise money by spreading the word through social media, friends, and family, and by hosting an event at a local restaurant or bar.
01/18/2024  Throughout high school and college, I have been part of many organizations that have raised money through games, challenges, drives, tabling, and more. Currently, I am leading a group that puts on pop-up free healthcare clinics in rural areas. Each clinic costs about $30-40k, which is gathered entirely through fundraising efforts. I have learned a lot about fundraising through these experiences and plan to use those ideas and lessons in my fundraising for the Chicago Marathon. Aside from just posting on my social media and sending letters to close family and friends, I plan to use the spirit of the event and foundation to raise money. One idea I had is to do different fitness challenges throughout the year and ask people to make a pledge to donate a certain amount depending on what I am able to accomplish (for ex: run a mile every hour for as many hours as I can and have people pledge to donate a certain amount for each mile I do). Another idea I have talked to my grandmother about is having a fundraising sale of her art, where a portion of the proceeds go towards my fundraising goal.
01/19/2024  I have no previous charitable fundraising experience. However, I have build a career around raising money from investors in finance/asset management industry and have a robust network of friends and family who have had similar struggles with this disease.
01/19/2024  I've participated in a number of fundraising events such as the Movember Foundation (Men's health) and the Bike MS 150 (The National Multiple Sclerosis Society) charity ride.
01/19/2024  Growing up a student-athlete, I have been part of many fundraising events and sought out programs that cater to children specifically to either donate my time or funds for the cause at hand. To fundraise for this event, I intend to tap into my wide circle of friends, family, and co-workers to teach them about the Parkinson's Foundation and encourage them to donate to the cause.
01/19/2024  I have had a lot of fundraising experience as a teacher and former Greek life member. I plan to raise a minimum for my race or races by talking to friends and family, hosting events at my home, and using my social media. I have no doubt I'll get it done.
01/20/2024  I have done fundraising in the past, primarily for Breast Cancer awareness - another foundation and cause that is so important to me - through events (mostly sports-related, of course!) that I set up in both high school and college. I do not have any concerns about being able to raise the minimum and beyond for this foundation. My dad has only recently started telling those outside of our immediate family and closest friends about his diagnosis, finally letting go of the shame he felt, and everyone's first question is always - how can we help? I know there are so many people who are looking for an opportunity to help my dad and the Parkinson's Foundation.
01/21/2024  I have fundraised for my sorority while in college and just fundraiser for a half marathon this past fall. I used social media platforms and word of mouth.
01/22/2024  I have been doing various fundraises since boy scouts. Doing popcorn sales or math problems for St Judes, I have found interesting ways to raise money. I come from a big sports family so I would look to raise the minimum by running Super Bowl squares or creating a march madness pool where a portion is donated.
01/22/2024  None significant experience. I plan to use social media to solicit donations from friends and family. Will also request donation from my physician partners at work. With both, will offer to match donations until at least the minimum is raised.
01/23/2024  I have vast fundraising experience during my undergraduate time at Drexel University raising around $15,000 each year during the annual day of giving for my club, and contributing to other fundraisers via charity games and community service. Additionally I've raised money for other foundations such as the Wounded Warriors Project, fostered dogs and raised money at Good Karma Dog Rescue, and periodically donate to other foundations. I plan to use social media to raise most of my funds.
01/23/2024  I ran the NYC Marathon with a charity partner and raised money for Memorial Sloan Kettering - the partnership enriched my whole marathon experience. I plan on fundraising through family and friends and those that have supported my running in the past.
01/23/2024  Ran Chicago marathon in 2021 for ALZ and raised funds
01/26/2024  I have 8 years of fundraising experience for multiple non-profits, both professionally and personally. I have competed in athletic challenges, have advertised and fundraiser on social media, and have participated in email campaigns. One of my favorite fundraising methods is asking people to donate in return for having a "dedicated mile" during the marathon - I write their names on my body during the race and take a picture at their dedicated mile for them.
01/26/2024  I have raised money for MJFF Team Fox and run with them. I also make a large annual donation from my charitable trust. I have over 2000 followers on IG and a large group of friends in various running communities to assist with my fundraising.
01/26/2024  I work for a company that has matching once I get 10 people to commit to donate. Additionally, my family would be happy to support as I follow along this journey.
01/28/2024  I plan to reach out to family and friends to fundraise for the race and plan events that will not only raise money but also awareness.
01/28/2024  While attending Bryant University in Smithfield, RI, where I graduated in May 2022, I served as the president and head of philanthropy for my fraternity, Delta Kappa Epsilon. During those four years, I gained valuable experience in planning and executing fundraising events for various philanthropic causes. To meet the minimum fundraising requirements for the TCS NYC Marathon, I intend to leverage my social media following and strong network of colleagues. I will also apply my event planning skills to organize fundraisers that surpass the required funds. Additionally, I have the support and guidance of my grandmother, who has successfully raised substantial amounts of money in the fight against Parkinson's disease.
02/19/2024  My personal target is to raise $10,000 for PD. I plan on using my corporate network and global colleagues, friends and family. I will also utilize social media to help spread the word!
01/29/2024  I have experience filling all available slots for blood drives as well as managing blood drives start to finish. I have extensive personal and professional networks to lean on in order to meet the minimum fundraising requirements.
01/30/2024  I have participated in fundraising for past student organizations in college, but this would be my first time fundraising personally. I have no concerns that I would meet my goals given my extended family's support of the cause, my networks in Michigan and Chicago, and my willingness to personally fund to this cause as it is so important to me.
01/31/2024  Yes I have. I helped raise organize a fundraiser for the cystic fibrosis foundation raising over $25,000. I definitely plan on putting fourth some of ny own money. I work in a large school district in Westchester so I'm hoping I can guarantee around $25-$50 from 30-60 teacher within my school.
01/31/2024  I have run 6 half marathons, including 3 that required me to raise $3,000. I surpassed the fundraising amount for each race. I also work for a Company that offers matching for donations, so I can take advantage of that as well. I have family, friends, and work colleagues who I know will help me raise the funds. To the extent that I fall short, I will backstop the amount personally.
02/01/2024  I would reach out to my family and friends through social media and email to encourage them to donate.
02/01/2024  I have helped fundraise for several high school sports programs when I was younger. I also helped fundraise for Net Impact Club at Indiana University, an organization that promotes sustainability in business. I will utilize friends as well as my professional network to fundraise for the race.
02/02/2024  I've had no issue reaching the fundraising minimums in my other races
02/03/2024  During my senior year in 2015, as a student at Boston College, I fundraised and ran the Boston Marathon for Dream Big!, one of the marathon charity teams. During that Spring, I fundraised $6,400 for young girls from lower income backgrounds to participate in sports, another cause close to my heart. I completed the Boston Marathon in April of that year.
02/03/2024  Family and friends will support me in this race.
02/04/2024  I fundraiser for the 2023 NYC Marathon and surprised the requirement by $2000. I use social media, flyers with a QR code, and incentive programs at work to raise funds.
02/05/2024  I have done multiple fundraising in the past (including the Parkinson's Walk in NYC). I fund raise through my family and friends. I have always hit my goal.
02/05/2024  Throughout college and post grad activities, I was involved in large fundraising efforts including dance marathon where I aided in setting a record for amount fundraiser in our university's organization history. I plan to utilize my connections and social media platform to raise money for this cause.
02/05/2024  Not much fundraising experience but willing to do whatever it takes to help
02/06/2024  I have raised money for my temple to build a kitchen where low income families of any background can eat for free.
02/06/2024  I plan to raise funds through yard sales and crochet. I used to plan events and fundraise for them.
02/06/2024  Crowdsourcing, Social Media
02/06/2024  Money for dance company raised thru crowdsourcing, social media, and direct mailing to organizations.
02/06/2024  family, friends, coworkers, our families network within the Parkinsons community
02/06/2024  My family and friends will assist. Also co-workers and social media.
02/07/2024  My past fundraising experience has been through involvement with organizations that support children and families impacted by childhood cancer through financial and emotional support, resources, and research. Most recently, I was involved with Penn State THON from 2019-2023, and I fundraised through the DonorDrive platform, mailings, and social media. Prior to my involvement at Penn State, I had the opportunity to lead my high school's dance marathon in 2019, and this included fundraising on the individual level and executing organization-wide fundraising initiatives. This yearlong fundraising campaign and culminating dance marathon raised $101,000 in 2019, a 290% increase from the prior year, driven by local sponsorships and stronger community engagement. For the New City York Marathon, I plan to connect with family and friends through a series of emails in the months leading up to the race and broaden my reach through the use of social media. Also, I plan to spread awareness about the Parkinson's Foundation and my fundraising campaign through in-person interactions. I will also look to use any fundraising resources provided by the Parkinson's Foundation!
02/08/2024  Never done it but I will raise 2k
02/08/2024  n the past, I organized a successful fundraiser in school, raising $10,000 for Alzheimer's disease. This experience taught me valuable skills in planning, communication, and mobilizing support for a cause that is important to me. Now, as I embark on raising funds for Parkinson's Champions, I plan to utilize similar strategies to meet and exceed the minimum fundraising requirement for my race. I will leverage my social network by reaching out to friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances through email, social media platforms, and in-person conversations. I will share my personal connection to Parkinson's disease and explain why supporting this cause is meaningful to me. Additionally, I will emphasize the impact of their donations, highlighting how their contributions will directly benefit individuals living with Parkinson's and their families.
02/08/2024  Fundraising from work, family and friends will be my primary method.
02/08/2024  I have fundraised for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in 2022 for the TCS New York City Marathon (over $3,500!) and have also fundraised for American Heart Association (about $1,000). I plan to raise the minimum by sharing with my loved ones, colleagues, and peers, and educating them on where the donations go and the power their donations have on this charity and on others.
02/08/2024  Yes, I did raise funds for Kingston Hospital Charity in 2021 in London, United Kingdom and I plan to raise funds through my family and friends all over the world.
02/09/2024  I have had minimal fundraising experience. For now, my plan is to crowdsource online. I do have some ideas about fun posts to generate interest. I am also prepared to make up the difference out of pocket.
02/10/2024  I have not fundraised any n the past...have just made personal contribution that is matched by my employer
02/10/2024  As an Ambassador for the Rochester Running Company, I coordinate a weekly group run at a local brewery where we regularly have 30 runners every Thursday night. In previous years we have supported similar fundraising events that rallied the same community of runners to help with planning, finding raffle donations, and funding. These actions show a community that aligns with what I have seen the Parkinson's Foundation provides for my mother-in-law, and wish my aunt had this support when she was first diagnosed. Since World Parkinson's day is Thursday, April 11th, I think it would be a perfect opportunity to put Parkinson's in the spotlight and give awareness to the local chapter, information and resources for improving care, and to find a cure.
02/10/2024  My husband and I are lucky to be a part of an amazing athletic community in Rochester, NY where we live. We are ambassadors for a small, independently owned running store called Rochester Running Company, and are members of a local triathlon club. Being a part of these groups has allowed us to build a community of like-minded athletes who support each other's goals and missions. Many people in these groups fundraise annually for races like the New York City Marathon, and their fundraising efforts are embraced by our wonderful community of athletes. One of our weekly activities is running with a group on Thursday evenings at a local brewery. My husband, Casey, helps coordinate this group, which regularly attracts over 30 runners. We hope to use this weekly run to plan a fundraising event that connects local athletes to our local Parkinson's Foundation chapter. One of the women my mom has connected with through her "Pickleball for Parkinson's" classes is a runner living with PD who was a previous winner of the Rochester Marathon. We hope to utilize her resources to bring together athletes to educate about PD, what it's like to be an athlete with PD, and fundraise at the same time. Ideally, we would do this during Parkinson's awareness month in April. Some of the other ideas we have been brainstorming include designing a 5K walk/run as a fundraiser, partnering with our local Rock Steady Boxing organization to offer boxing classes as a fundraiser (again- to bring together the athlete and Parkinson's communities), and a "fall" clinic or first aid/CPR training for our running/athlete communities. Throughout my adult life, I always seem to find myself on nonprofit boards whose missions are fundraising. From golf tournaments to online auctions, I have been on the planning committees of many fundraising events and have learned a lot from those experiences. Event planning seems to come naturally to me, so I look forward to planning some local fundraising events to bring together the athletic community of Rochester, NY and the local Parkinson's Foundation community to learn from and support each other.
02/11/2024  I have used social media the past 2 years for St Jude to fundraise, but decided to switch it up to support a cause more impactful to myself now.
02/12/2024  I recently fundraised for the Run Against Breast Cancer race in San Fransisco. I fundraised via social media and through networking.
02/12/2024  I have fundraised for other organizations and races, most recently wear blue: run to remember, an organization that runs to honor fallen military members. There is a large community or runners and supporters that I am connected with, and I will not have any problem meeting the minimum fundraising, especially with the personal connection to my mom.
02/13/2024  I would pay the race fee up front
02/13/2024  Selling food to cover funeral expenses for my grandparents
02/13/2024  I have not raised money in the past, but would love to for the Parkinson Foundation! I have a large sphere of people who I know want and will give back.
02/13/2024  I work with school groups for fundraising and would use social networking to fundraise.
02/13/2024  I have raised for multiple races with a goal 2000.00 which i have met.
02/13/2024  through social media
02/13/2024  I share the info with family and friends and I typically cover the rest. Fairly simple.
02/14/2024  I have never done fundraising for it in the past but would plan to reach out to family and friends through social media

02/15/2024  I have never raised money for a race that I have participated in but my son has done fundraising for his school. We put out the info on my social media pages, we text our family members that may not be on social media and we ask our close friends in the neighborhood. I also plan on doing a company match donation.
02/15/2024  Fair amount of fundraising experience including leading full effort. Always met my goal!
02/15/2024  sdfsdf
02/16/2024  None. I plan to fundraise with family and friends and also my self.
02/16/2024  No prior experience
02/16/2024  Fundraised as a team for the Michael J Fox Foundation run/walk in Tempe, AZ 2023. I hope to fundraise with support from the physical therapy universities I am affiliated with as well as the different healthcare facilities I am associated with. I hope to use my role as a P&MD alliance ambassador to gain support from other ambassadors.
02/16/2024  I have fundraised for other past events in college and at work. I plan to fundraise by reaching out to family, friends, and work colleagues via social media and in-person events.
02/16/2024  This is my first fundraiser! I plan to utilize social media and my running community to raise money.
02/17/2024  Minimal, but mostly using social media friends family and coworkers.
02/17/2024  When I was in college, I used to work as a beach lifeguard every summer. Every summer we would fundraise money for a scholarship program to give a fellow lifeguard a small scholarship the following school year. I would plan to raise money asking friends, family, and work colleagues sharing the story of my girlfriends father and bringing awareness to a disease in which there is not yet a cure.
02/17/2024  I have taken part of several fundraising efforts in the past, particularly as part of high school, college, and athletic organizations. This will be my first opportunity fundraising individually, which excites me. I plan to raise money through my personal network, company, and family. Specific to my family, this is a cause we are now deeply connect with, and anticipate overwhelming support in fundraising efforts.
02/17/2024  I have fundraised as a Girl Scout and also in college through my service fraternity for our annual dance marathon. I plan to use my network of friends, family, and coworkers to raise as much as I can towards the minimum. Willing to supplement with my own money to cover any funds not raised.
02/18/2024  I did the Pittsburgh half for charity. I have many friends, family, and co workers who will join in the fight. Along with a plan to sell some friendship bracelets.
02/19/2024  Most of my fundraising efforts in the past have pertained to educational non-profits, specifically via outreach to family/friends and selling of goods. I plan to reach out to my personal network. I also plan to hold informal personal events (ex: dinners) with family and friends in the Chicagoland area. If its relevant, I have no problem personally covering the minimum.
02/19/2024  I have raised money for "Light the Night" races before. I plan to raise the money through family and friends.
02/19/2024  I am very experienced in fundraising due to coaching soccer. I have completed multiple fundraisers using a variety of methods. I plan to reach out to multiple different outlets to seek support. I also plan to contact my job for support as well.
02/19/2024  RMHC, Chicago 2022 I plan to solicit donations on my social channels & professional network- but typically end up donating a majority of the money myself.
02/19/2024  Spearheaded a marketing campaign for the largest LGBT+ fundraiser in Eastern Washington at WSU that sold out and raised $10,000 for the Seattle Pride Foundation. I plan to utilize my network and use my training to encourage my network to donate to my campaign and fundraiser.
02/20/2024  I ran for Relay4Life in high school and raised money for cancer research. I plan on raising the money by using social media and support from my family/friends.
02/20/2024  During high school I rowed for River City Rowing Club in West Sacramento, CA and then I rowed at UC Davis. Both of these rowing programs are clubs, and they both rely on heavy fundraising efforts from participants on the team. At UC Davis, each athlete was responsible for raising at least $3,000 per year by participating in various fundraising activities - like 'rent-a-rower', erg-a-thons, and donation drives. After rowing in college, I coached for River City Rowing Club (my high school club) for 7 years, which involved organizing fundraising efforts for the athletes. These activities included erg-a-thons, letter writing campaigns, and club hosted dinner events. In order to raise the money for my participation in the NYC Marathon, I would start by initiating fundraising campaigns on all of my social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn); I would personally reach out to my closest friends and family, who have been incredibly happy to support my causes in the past; and my partner and I are both prepared to make sizable donations to the cause ourselves, regardless of how well our fundraising efforts go within our networks.
02/20/2024  I am a band mom of 3 band kids! I have extensive fundraising experience!!!
02/21/2024  I previously ran the Boston Marathon in 2021 and raised money for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston for that. For this race, I plan to ask friends and family for funds via LinkedIn / Facebook / Instagram and maybe organize a fundraising event in Boston or Portland, ME.
02/21/2024  I am a go getter, I know alot of people in the profession, I will have no problem findraising the amount needed, maybe get even more!
02/21/2024  I've run several races for charity. NYC marathon 2017 and 2018; Boston Marathon 2024; Chicago Marathon 2018; Berlin Marathon 2018; I've also participated in the America Foundation for Suicide Prevention's overnight event. I do some fundraising on social media and whatever is not met is self funded. Normally raising funds through my social media channels is enough.
02/21/2024  Church events
02/21/2024  I was the senior class president in high school and successfully raised over 10000 for school events. If selected for the team I have a plan to run a Pickleball for Parkinson's Disease tournament in my community. (I am a teacher that runs pickleball club and has access to a big school community in West Chester, PA)
02/23/2024  Both my husband and I are DEEPLY familiar with fundraising. We both work part time for a non profit theatre in our town -- to which we do quite a bit of fundraising. My husband's full time job is also with an education nonprofit organization called DonorsChoose. To which his entire job is fundraising - on quite a national scale - for teachers and schools. I have also worked part time as a volunteer for the American Red Cross in addition to being a full time nurse. We are well equipped for fundraising.
02/23/2024  I am a social worker for a non-profit in community mental health, my role relies heavily on donations/fundraising. For this fundraiser, I am planning on using social media as a way to reach other to help raise the finds for Parkinson's.
02/23/2024  This would be my first time running for charity. For fundraising, I would make.use of my social media channels/ connections, as well as calling on my local community.
02/23/2024  During college and medical school, I have been involved in extracurricular activities/student groups that were responsible for raising money for a variety of causes (for example, Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children). As such, I have experience with fundraising. In order to raise money for the race, I would ask for help from friends and family. I would also promote my cause on social media, and potentially hold a fundraising event.
02/25/2024  Over my 4 years of undergrad at Syracuse University, I helped raise money for Vera House, a non-profit based in Upstate New York aimed at preventing domestic and sexual violence. In my senior year specifically, I assisted in raising a milestone $20,000 for the charity. For the NYC marathon, I plan on leveraging both the skills I acquired when fundraising for Vera House and my network of family, friends, colleagues, and fellow runners.
02/25/2024  I have participated in multiple events in the past where fundraising is a requirement (ie. Relay for Life, Dance Marathon, Up Til Dawn, and more) and have always gone above and beyond to raise as much money as I possibly can. Given that Parkinson's has closely and directly affected my family and people that I love, I know they will be more than willing to donate to me/the team for this race. I will also plan to spread the word that I am running the marathon with the Parkinson's Champions with people I know from all areas of my life and know that many people will support me as they know how personal and important it is to me. I am 100% confident that I will meet the fundraising requirement and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to do so.
02/26/2024  This will be my first fundraiser. I have ran many runs that have to do with cancer children first response etc
02/26/2024  I have raised money for my Eagle Scout project and I am involved in the financial industry in my daily work. I plan to raise money through private events and contributions from my network.

02/26/2024  I have fundraised in the past for many different events and I will reach out to family and friends to support me in reaching my goal.
02/27/2024  I have done fundraising for service projects abroad but this will be my first time fundraising locally. As a physician, I have access to a wide range of people who believe in and support charities. I do not anticipate any trouble coming up with the $750. I plan to advertise for the fundraising on social media and via email/text threads with my friends, family, and colleagues.
02/27/2024  I have completed a marathon and a half marathon while fundraising for St. Jude's children's Hospital.
02/28/2024  2023 Chicago Marathon on behalf of American Heart Association I was successful in fundraising last year through a combination of email outreach to friends & family, Facebook fundraising, a direct personal fundraising website, reach out to co-workers & corporate matching through my employer.
02/28/2024  In my past I have been a part of numerous fundraising experiences, specifically at my college, the University of Rhode Island. Each semester we would raise thousands of dollars for the Children's Miracle Network through various pop up event on campus, in addition to ad-hoc fundraisers such as raffles, golf events, or food fundraisers. We always met our goal and more times than not, went substantially above the said goal. I have strong confidence in myself as well as my immediate network (Family, Friends, Colleagues, etc) to support me in achieving my fundraising goal and look forward to it going to such a worthy cause.
02/28/2024  I have never fundraised before, but I plan to raise money by posting on social media, sharing it within the 2 gyms I coach at, and sharing it within the schools I work for.
03/01/2024  I have fundraised for races in the past, and I plan to raise the money through social media
03/02/2024  I intend to post on social media, reach out to all friends, family, healthcare colleagues, see if my employer has a match program
03/02/2024  I used to fundraise for scouting. I plan to reach out to my family and friends, my community at the vet school I attend, and the triathlon community I am a part of.
03/03/2024  I have been involved in several fundraising campaigns, most notable a campaign in 2015 to save the UNCW Track team from being cut from the university sports teams. We had to raise $250,000 in 6 months and were able to achieve that goal, ensuring that the team remains a part of the university to this day.
03/03/2024  First through friends and familly that will be happy to help for the illness of my father and to make my dream come true. My work (L'Oreal) will also sponsorised part of this race.
03/03/2024  I fundraised for the NYRR in the past for various races/causes. I plan to raise the minimum for my particular race with the support of my family and friends.
03/03/2024  Door to door fundraising.
03/04/2024  My husband works in primary care and global health, and I often fundraise to assist his patients in Uganda, for which live-saving surgeries (often ~7k USD) are prohibitively expensive. I have a large network of generous family and friends, and know I can meet the fundraising goal... or surpass them!
03/04/2024  This would be my first experience with a fundraising, but I participated in donating for fundraisers. I plan on raising the minimum for my race with the help of my family members and friends. I also have a couple sponsorships.
03/04/2024  Lots of fundraising experience with nonprofits and schools. Planning to raise funds through a social media campaign to family and friends.
03/05/2024  I have 4 active children who were involved in many sports which required me to do small fundraiser to help pay for their sporting events. But more importantly my husband is the Co-Founder of The Eddie McGowan Foundation. We do at least 2 big fundraisers throughout the year, 1 being our golf charity outing and the other a Happy Hour. Last year we included a 3rd event which was a fun day charity fundraiser at Pintail Point. Where people came together for good food and clay shooting. The website is https://www.eddiemcgowanfoundation.org/ our mission is supporting people with developmental & neurological disorders. Eddie my husbands best friend and business partner lost his battle with ALS in 2018. But through this charity we keep his memory alive while helping to raise money for others fighting similar battles.
03/05/2024  Social media channels, coworkers, etc
03/05/2024  Networking with family, friends and work colleagues.
03/06/2024  I've fundraised for organizations and non profits throughout my childhood and college. In my adult life, I haven't raised thousands of dollars on my own. But I know I can do it. With my friends, family friends, and family following me on social media, I'll use that as my primary outlet for fundraising. I also work for a large corporation that has agreed to help me reach my goal. I also plan to host a fundraising event which I'll share with all of my 600+ coworkers. I have garnered a large network of people who care about me and my father from all of the places I've worked and lived (in the US) in my adult life. So I know I can reach my goal. Additionally, my family cares deeply about this cause and will help me fund any remaining portion left if it becomes necessary.
03/07/2024  No experience
03/07/2024  I have been a Boston Marathon charity runner for 12 years (including this year) and have raised close to $200k in that time. I have a strong network of friends and colleagues that I call on to help me.
03/07/2024  I've been the philanthropy chair for my sorority and raised over 50K in my time as philanthropy chair for the Alpha Phi Foundation. I would love to use social media to raise money for this amazing foundation!
03/08/2024  I plan to raise the minimum through the support of my family members, friends, and co-workers. I hope that by fundraising for this foundation, I am able to help spread awareness to this disease.
03/09/2024  I've fun raised before but I know it's last minute and have the family and friends to help donate to the cause.
03/10/2024  I have raised money for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation in the past, hosting different fundraisers to raise money
03/11/2024  Helped with garage sales for family members, cleaning, baking and making crafts
03/11/2024  I've fundraised for races before by putting on quiz nights, Easter eggs hunts, raffles, fashion shows all of which will get me to my target
03/11/2024  I was one of the co-heads of philanthropy in my fraternity and I participated in organizing many different fundraising events. In 2020 I organized a fundraiser for victims of the California Wildfires which raised over $10k for the red cross. I personally raised over $1000 dollars in the span of two weeks.
03/12/2024  I have been part of numerous fund-raising organizations in high-school and college. As president of my high school class I organized and hosted fund raising events such as snack sales at sporting events, basketball tournaments, and car washes to support class events. As a participant of Northwestern University's dance marathon I was responsible for meeting a fundraising minimum which I achieved through outreach and participation in organized fundraisers. As a consultant, I have a large professional network of corporate employees who I could ask to contribute to my cause.
03/12/2024  I have been raising money as long as I can remember from high school football to different charities in college. In high school, I actually raised the most money 3/4 years selling gift cards. I believe that my extroverted/sales background comes in handy when it comes to fundraising. My plan for this specifically would be as such...$3750 is the min. $1,000: Myself $2,000: Family $1,000: Co-workers $1,000: Friends I am also working on getting my company to sponsor me specifically which would be great as I assume they give at least $500. This amount would put me around $5,000 so that would be great but I can always come up with some other creative ways to raise the money!
03/12/2024  Some of the donations will come from personal funding. In the past I have raised monies for fun raising through my social media platforms as well as solicitations from family and friends.
03/12/2024  I am a corporate event project manager. In 2022, I raised over $20,000 for various organizations through my corporate relationships. I plan to use similar connections to support my fundraising efforts.
03/12/2024  We have recently done a Disney Charity run with Kellsie's Hope Foundation and raised funds through family and friends, easily meeting our goals!
03/12/2024  Basic, but always successful.
03/12/2024  Basic, but successful. Will use social media to reach the masses.
03/13/2024  I have not yet had experience fundraising for a race before. If granted the opportunity, I will likely start by asking for support at upcoming family functions (i.e., Easter) and beyond that, extending the ask to extended family and friends. Finally, I will plan to use social media platforms and my professional network for outreach.
03/13/2024  No previous experience.
03/13/2024  In the past, I have had experience raising money for other non-profit organizations. Having been social chair of my fraternity (with over 60 students) last year and very prevalent within Greek Life at the University of Pennsylvania, I have organized fundraisers that have raised thousands of dollars. Additionally, I serve as a member of the board for the Wharton Undergraduate Club with over 500+ general members which is a network I can also tap into. Lastly, I am involved with Penn Traditions' Philanthropy group which organizes fundraising for various initiatives at Penn. If given the opportunity to run for Parkinson's Champions, I will raise money through family, friends, and my various channels at the University at Pennsylvania and strongly believe that raising the minimum will not be a problem.
03/14/2024  I have a lot of support and followers.
04/25/2024  Friends, family, members of the medical community
03/15/2024  I've raised money through college fundraisers, specifically within my network of friends and family, raising over $2K for the special Olympics.
03/15/2024  I just pay the min. and then ask friends for additional funds.
03/17/2024  Firstly, I am willing to guarantee the fundraising minimum immediately. I would continue to fundraise with my personal and business connections to help us equitably through your fundraising deadline.
03/18/2024  I have fundraised in the past to run a marathon for another organization and plan to crowd source and raise money through local activites with my running club organizations.
03/18/2024  I have never fundraised for any races. Donations from family and friends. I am also planning on doing a workout class with my local fitness studio as a fundraiser.
03/18/2024  Family, Friends, Personal funds
03/18/2024  I plan to reach out to friends, family, and coworkers early in the process (as soon as April) over email asking for donations, and follow up over text (a week or two later) with those in my inner circle to secure more donations. I work as an Advertising Account Manager covering Procter & Gamble and have a large network of professional friends who would be happy to support a good cause. Additionally, I come from a big family and keep in touch with a wide-variety of childhood and college friends, who would all be willing to donate. Lastly, I am a good social planner who would be excited to plan and host fundraising events at venues in NYC / NJ this summer. I have fundraising experience from participating in the Indiana University Dance Marathon as a college student.
03/20/2024  Volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and I've ran in the breast cancer run in Newport Beach.
03/20/2024  I've fundraised for girls on the run & St. Baldricks children cancer. I plan on tapping my extensive community of runners + my close network of family and friends.
03/21/2024  i have done fundraising in high school but this is my first experience as an adult. i plan to utilize my family who feels very passionate about this cause and use my grandfathers story as a way to motivate people to donate.
03/21/2024  As a former athlete at the collegiate level I have lots of experience with fundraising. I have raised money on behalf of my schools, as well as for other charities such as the One Love Foundation and HeadStrong Foundation. I also previously worked in the advancement offices of my high school and college, gaining experience in networking and alumni fundraising for particular causes, including athletics. These experiences have provided me with a large network of dedicated and supporting people. I plan to coordinate social events and utilize my large social media presence to reach my network and encourage donations to hit my goal. I have full confidence I would not only be able to reach but further exceed my fundraising goal!
03/22/2024  I have fundraising experience through a road race I helped coordinate as a race director which is held in Boston, MA. We have organized hundreds of runners each year, and have fundraised more than 200,000 dollars for Mustard Seed Communities and a few other charities, getting donations from corporate sponsors as well as personal donations. I would see myself fundraising for Parkinson's Champions by a mix of events, I would love to host a fundraising dinner party, and hosting a golf tournament at the golf course I grew up playing. I am passionate about this; Parkinson's impacted the most important person that I had in my life.
03/22/2024  My most recent fundraising experience has been fundraising to run the 2024 Boston Marathon (coming up very soon)! I achieved my required minimum fundraising goal of $10,000 and recently raised this to $12,000 to further benefit the charity. Here is a link to my fundraising page for reference: https://www.givengain.com/project/aaron-raising-funds-for-one-world-strong-foundation-71026 To fundraise for future marathons I plan to do more of the same - leveraging my in-person network (both personally and professionally) in addition to via social media (through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).
03/22/2024  Fundraising has been a significant part of my journey, and I have been actively involved in raising money for various organizations in Cleveland, New York City, and even abroad. Through my passion for giving back, I have dedicated my time to several non-profit organizations in NYC, where I volunteer regularly. This hands-on involvement has allowed me to witness the impact of fundraising firsthand. Drawing upon my past experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for the process of fundraising and have perfected my skills in leveraging my community and personal connections to make a difference. I find immense joy and fulfillment in rallying support and generating funds for causes close to my heart, and I am excited to apply this expertise to my upcoming fundraising efforts for Parkinson's Champions in the NYC Marathon. To raise funds, I plan to leverage and utilize many different areas of my community. Firstly, I will utilize the power of social media to spread awareness about my participation and the cause itself. Through engaging posts, sharing my personal story, and providing updates on my training progress, I aim to capture the attention and support of a wider audience. Additionally, I plan to organize a donation workout class in NYC, where participants can contribute to Parkinson's Champions while also engaging in a fitness activity. This event will not only raise money but also create a sense of community around the cause. Furthermore, I will reach out to my family members and friends, leveraging their previous generosity towards Parkinson's organizations during my grandmother's battle (donating over $20K throughout her decades long illness). I have no doubt that their support will extend to my fundraising efforts. By combining the power of social media, community events, and personal connections, I am confident in my ability to raise significant funds for Parkinson's Champions.
03/24/2024  Buena
03/24/2024  I funded my college Buckeyteam mostly through instagram, friends and family, so I plan to do a similar situation.
03/24/2024  I have previously fundraiser for American Cancer society and was able to raise around $700 and would plan to reach my goal of $1000 if selected for the team.
03/24/2024  I have run both the Boston Marathon ($10,000 minimum) and the Chicago Marathon (raised over $3,000 with my own bib) with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I've found that relying on the base of family, friends, coworkers and fellow running peers is a great backbone for fundraising. I've also had quite a bit of success with both fundraising events that feature raffles or fun tournaments (pickleball, basketball, etc...) with an entrance fee.
03/25/2024  Fundraising for the American Cancer Society. I plan on getting donations from my running groups.
03/25/2024  Through colleagues at the hospital within the departments of neurology and neurosurgery as well as through support from friends and family
03/25/2024  In the past, I've raised thousands of dollars for suicide prevention services and wildlife protection agencies by selling creative T-shirts and donating the profits. This has proven effective both in terms of making a cool, wearable t-shirt to spread the word about a specific cause and generating a significant amount of money for that cause. My plan for raising money for the Parkinson's foundation would include doing this with a new shirt. Now living in New York, I've made so many friends within the NYC running community. Selling a cool athletic t-shirt would be easy, fun and effective. Social media would be an easy way to scale this promotion to a much larger audience than previous shirts while also accessing the folks who were involved in previous charity shirts. Past this, my family and friends at home in Oklahoma would love to support me and my late grandfather. I've already reached out to many to gauge interest and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. This effort wouldn't be capped by the minimum, as well. I'd like to raise as much as I possibly can for this effort!
03/25/2024  Much of my career was spent as a professional fundraiser, with my longest tenure, at the American Museum of Natural History. Asking people for money is something I have had great professional success doing. I will plan to start with a wide network of friends, family and colleagues and work from there.
03/27/2024  I have been part of various fundraising efforts in the past including Jewish charities. I also work in healthcare and have participated in fundraising efforts through work.
03/27/2024  My family has raised money for Cycle for Survival for 10 years. We also serve on a number of boards. I plan to raise from family, friends, clients, and through employee matching.
03/27/2024  My main fundraising experience was with the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC). The PMC is an annual fundraising bike-a-thon event that benefits the DanaFarber Cancer Institute via the Jimmy Fund. For this event I successfully raised $3,500 by leveraging my personal network and beyond through personal outreaches (i.e., letters, sending links directly to friends / family), social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram), and fundraising events (e.g., operated a charity night with other riders).
03/27/2024  I have participated in various fundraising efforts through my work's philanthropy committee related to different organizations including Nami Walks, Cycle For Survival, Avon Breast Cancer Walk, the Chick Mission etc. Working in asset management has brought me a great deal of exposure to fundraising, outreach and networking. I intend to use my professional network to meet our goal. I also attended Penn State University where we run the largest student run philanthropy in the world, The Four Diamonds Fund, to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Through my business fraternity, we were assigned a family that was a part of the foundation and we spent every year raising funds for this specific family through canning efforts, family, friends, and alumni. I plan to use these same skills to raise funds for the TCS NYC Marathon team.
03/27/2024  I have raised funds for other organizations during both my college years and time in dental school as well as residency. I have worked with THON during college, an organization dedicated to supporting children and their families receiving cancer therapy at Penn State. During my time in dental school I worked with MyFace, an organization dedicated to providing care and covering medical expenses associated with corrective surgeries for craneofacial deformities. I plan to reach out to various friends and families to help reach the minimum funding raising goal as well as contributing myself.
03/28/2024  I plan to cover the expected fundraising requirement with the hopes of raising more than expected
03/28/2024  Throughout college, my sorority supported various charities, including a memorial scholarship in memory of 2 alumni that passed away. This scholarship was funded through a 5K race held on campus. For this event, we set up tables throughout campus, and sent emails to alumni members and personal friends/family requesting donations. While I would mostly approach the fundraising for this race differently, I can utilize the connections I have made through my sorority to raise money. I plan to post content on my social media (Instagram and TikTok) showcasing my training. In these posts, I will note that I am running for Parkinson's, in honor of my Nana, and ask for donations. I will even note that if they DM me their Venmo, I can simply request an amount from them to make it easier. I also plan on making some cards (Christmas Card style) and sending them to extended family and friends who may not have social media. These cards will have a link or QR code so that they can easily donate directly. It is also a more direct and personal method, which will likely have a higher donation rate than on social media alone. I am very motivated to fundraise and confident that I will reach the race minimum.
03/28/2024  I've fundraised for the Parkinson's Revolution events and raised over $1,000 just from my family alone. Separately, at PEAK Parent Center, a nonprofit organization focusing on supporting families of children with disabilities, I was responsible for managing the local and national fundraising efforts. We raised over 1.2 million in 2020-2021 by engaging our local community, lobbying government officials, hosting events and more. I plan to use that experience to fundraise for this deeply important cause.
03/28/2024  I have past experience fundraising for natural disaster assistance trips and supplies, amounting to about $30,000 in 6 months. I plan to use my community's engagement in local businesses by creating partnerships with small businesses in my area to bring in more customers while accruing funding.
03/28/2024  I fund raised in highschool, but I have not yet with a race. I plan to use social media and ask around in person, company match etc. I will also contribute some of my own funds.
03/28/2024  My fundraising plan primarily focuses on leveraging my personal network, including friends, family, and social media contacts. I will utilize various social media platforms such as Instagram to share my participation in the marathon and highlight Parkinson's Champions' mission. Through this, I'll encourage my network to donate and share the fundraiser with their own connections. Additionally, I'll personally reach out to friends and family via email, phone calls, and direct messages, explaining the importance of Parkinson's Champions' cause and asking for their support. By tapping into these networks, I aim to maximize fundraising efforts and reach my goal.
03/28/2024  I have previously raised upwards of $50,000 for cancer by reaching out to friends and family and by hosting charity events. I would use similar methods to fundraise for this!
03/28/2024  Fundraising events in highschool and college. I will ask people on social media, family, work colleagues, and some of my own funds.
03/28/2024  I have many friends in the road race community along with family and friends who would be happy to help raise the money. I would also spread awareness through my social media channels to capture more donations.
03/28/2024  I have not fundraised before, however my wife raised $1600 for a race she ran. Along with her help I am confident we can raise the money through social media and friends and family.
03/28/2024  I started my career with nonprofits like the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity, so I have vast fundraising experiencee.
03/28/2024  I haven't fundraised in quite some time but I have a very large pool of resources to fundraise from. I plan on not only reaching out to family who have seen the effects of this disease on others but also my large circle of friends and family. In my office it is very common for people to run the marathon for a cause and we all pitch in to donate.
03/28/2024  I don't have fundraising experience but plan to raise the minimum through professional connections and looking for an organizations to donate.
03/28/2024  My fundraising experience has involved bake sales, car washes, tag sales, and asking for donations through social media from family and friends. I hope to begin with asking family and friends for donations for this particular race.
03/29/2024  I have run the TCS NYC Marathon in 2024 and raised over $5,500 for ALS research and support.
03/29/2024  Have never raised money for race in the past but would be super motivated to
03/29/2024  I have fundraised in the past for non profits through my large social outreach and personable skills- I also work in sales, so this come naturally, especially when it is a cause I care so deeply about. I plan to raise the money by posting on my Facebook, Instagram, and sending letters to my family and friends.
03/29/2024  I plan to start a go fund me page and post it to several of my social media accounts to spread the word. I know my family is also passionate about this organization and would gladly contribute to the cause. I also plan to host a fundraising event such as partnering with a bar.
03/29/2024  I am blessed with friends, family and coworkers who will help me complete my goal in fundraising and running in the marathon.
03/30/2024  I do not have past fundraising experience but am very well connected in my community to be able to raise the funds.
03/30/2024  I do not have any prior fundraising experience. However, I have relatives who are guaranteed to contribute as well as a large group of coworkers and friends who would support me. I feel confident I would be able to raise the minimum given how passionate I feel about this cause and the people around me that would be supportive.
03/30/2024  Ive volunteer on non profits since I was 14 years old
03/31/2024  I have not had much fundraising experisnce, however, given my strong connections with the PD world, I feel that I can reach out to my connections for fundraising. I will also use social media platforms to help with fundraising.
03/31/2024  I fundraised to run NYC Marathon with a different charity in 2021. I plan to donate personally and recruit the help of other family members and friends.
04/01/2024  Coordinated a fundraising competition in high school for multiple years; Designed and implemented various ways of raising funds for St. Patrick's center, a local catholic charity; Managed clothing and monetary donations; Finalized total fundraising week by responsibly allocating monetary funds by prioritizing both quantity and quality when shopping for clothing to donate. I plan on raising the funds utilizing my network I have built from previous fundraising experience, a wide variety of social media platforms, and establishing connections through Parkinson's-related services & communities my grandfather benefited from before his passing.
04/01/2024  I am very connected and sociable. I plan on significantly contributing to the donation amount myself, and I expect my close friends and family to contribute too. I also plan on marketing my raising efforts on social media (Instagram, LinkedIn) to get a bunch of smaller donations from my network.
04/01/2024  I raised money for mental health awareness. I also work as an RN with the most supportive coworkers who will help me raise money for my race.
04/01/2024  I haven't fundraised for a race before, but I'll start by reaching out to friends, family, and local businesses for support. I'll use social media and email email to hit the fundraising target.
04/01/2024  I have trained for last year's marathon and while I injured myself and was not able to participate, I raised over $1,000 for leukemia from friends family and coworkers.
04/01/2024  I have a large family that always rallies behind a good cause. They have all asked how they can help support my dad and this is one that they will be eager to help. My dad was also a high school football coach for 25+ years and impacted countless lives. Hoping to tap into that network to be able to raise money as well!
04/02/2024  I have fundraised for organizations in the past including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Ronald McDonald House using platforms like social media and word-of-mouth. With our close-tie with Parkinson's thorough my dad, who has quietly battled through his disease with humility and strength, I have no doubt I will reach my fundraising goal by connecting with my supportive family, friends, and community.
04/02/2024  None prior. But Yes absolutely I'll raise at least the minimum
04/02/2024  I have had previous experience fundraising via organizing events, 50/50 raffles and reaching out to family, friends, colleagues, and my community. This has been very effective in my past fundraising endeavors and would be similar to how I would fundraise for this event. Below is a more detailed outline of what I would do to raise the minimum for this race. Personal Fundraising Page: Set up a personalized fundraising page on platforms Facebook Fundraisers. Here I will be able to share my story, connection to Parkinson's, and my goal for the NYC Marathon. I will also encourage friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to donate and share your page with their networks. Social Media Campaigns: Utilize social media platforms to spread awareness about your fundraising efforts by sharing regular updates on your training progress, milestones reached, and information about Parkinson's disease. Host Fundraising Events: Organize a fundraising events such as a bake sale or raffle. I will also look into collaborating with local fitness studios to host a charity workout class with proceeds going towards my fundraising goal. Community Outreach: Engage with my professional and personal communities to share my story and raise awareness about Parkinson's disease and my participation in the NYC Marathon.
04/02/2024  Leveraging my experience as a sorority philanthropy fundraiser and having organized fundraising walks for various charities through my employer, I plan to utilize a multifaceted approach to raise funds for Parkinson's disease and run a marathon in support. Drawing on my expertise in event coordination and fundraising, I will employ a combination of traditional and digital fundraising strategies, including hosting charity events with friends and family, reaching out to potential sponsors, setting up online crowdfunding campaigns, and leveraging social media platforms to spread awareness and garner support. With a proven track record of raising substantial amounts for charitable causes, I am confident in my ability to rally community support and exceed fundraising goals to make a meaningful impact in the fight against Parkinson's disease.
04/02/2024  I plan to use friend/ family, and our business for fundraising.
04/02/2024  I ran the NYC Marathon in 2023 for Project Purple and raised more than $6,000. I will raise money via my friends, family, and co-workers, and market my training progress on social media.
04/03/2024  I have fundraiser for multiple half marathons and a MJF PD Foundation 5k last fall. I would rely on friends and family and provide a backstop for any shortfall.
04/03/2024  I raise money every year for the San Antonio Rodeo Auction, benefitting the youth of Texas in rodeo. We raise anywhere from $5,000-$10,000 individually and the auction raises millions of dollars annually to this cause. I also help raise money for the Texas Cavaliers River Parade in San Antonio during the annual Fiesta celebration. The River Parade raised over $1.5 million dollars this year alone that goes back to youth education in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.
04/03/2024  I have done some fundraising in the past. I would rely on my personal network (family, friends, etc.). My family cares a lot about this cause because of my
04/03/2024  I do not have previous experience but I plan on drawing upon family, friends and coworkers who all have expressed interest in supporting me and know what my grandfather meant to me.
04/03/2024  I'm a great people person and have experience successfully fundraising. I plan to host parties and reach out to generous people. I"m confident I can meet the requirement.
04/03/2024  I have never fundraised before, but i have a large network of people in my life through work and athletics and hoping they will help in this worthy cause.
04/04/2024  Pay/ and promote on social media
04/04/2024  No fundraising experience as an adult but I do plan to reach out to friends and family, post on social media and talk to coworkers!
04/04/2024  I do not have any fundraising experience myself, but both my parents have participated in the MS society bike ride, Chicago marathon, and ironman through fundraising. I am planning to use media sources to share my fundraising page and talk to friends and family about donating to help raise money for the organization.
04/05/2024  I have not previously participated in fundraising when I ran the NYC marathon in 2022. However I feel confident I can raise sufficient funds from coworkers, friends and family in short order.
04/05/2024  I've fundraised many times throughout my college and high school career. I have a great network of family, friends, and coworkers.
04/05/2024  Through work, family, and friends.
04/06/2024  Donated
04/06/2024  My wife
04/06/2024  Through fundraising, events, through work colleagues, friends, family.
04/07/2024  Plan to reach out to friends and family.
04/08/2024  I have fundraised intermittently throughout my life, however, do not have fundraising experience tied to a charity race partner. I plan to reach out to family/friends, my professional network and use my social media to help me raise the minimum for the race.
04/08/2024  I fundraised $120k for a living house at my medical school by reaching out to alumni that used to live there. I plan to raise the minimum by asking family, friends, and alumni (especially ones who may work with PD patients).
04/08/2024  Through social media to spread the word, friends and family members, sending letters
04/08/2024  During COVID in 2020, I organized a race for CDC research and raised $3K in 5 months
04/08/2024  I work in the filmmaking industry, and have had to fundraise for some projects over the years. I also know that my family, friends, and wider network will be happy to contribute to this - knowing that I'm doing it for my mom. They all love her as much as I do!
04/09/2024  I have not done much fundraising since high school. I plan to raise the money by asking family and friends who were close to my grandfather. Also, many of my friends traveled with when I ran the Boston Marathon last year and those same friends would love to see my run another major marathon! If this is not enough, I personally can donate the remainder.
04/09/2024  I have raised money for international mission trips. I have a following on social media that I plan to utilize to raise the funds.
04/09/2024  I need to learn more about the minimum. I would ask friends.
04/10/2024  Family/Friends/Social Media
04/10/2024  As an honorary athlete with my own registration, I am not concerned with raising the minimum. I have an extensive network of family, friends, and colleagues who will donate. I've worked in sales and marketing in a past life, and now work in tech so have many tools and techniques at my disposal. Worst case I will donate the money myself in honor of my immediate family member with PD.
04/10/2024  I am planning on fundraising through reaching out to family members, colleagues, friends, and contributing a large sum myself.
04/11/2024  I was previously involved with the American Cancer Society through which I did a lot of fundraising. I was on a committee for a few years that fundraised primarily through educating the community and local businesses about the mission of the ACS to raise money and form partnerships for various events. I also used social media to educate and fundraise, which I would do for the Parkinson's Foundation as well. I would love to use this same strategy of educating and hopefully inspiring people to encourage donations for such a meaningful cause. I would also like to share my family's story and my connection to the cause. We now know a lot of people in the PD community who I know would be happy to spread the word in support as well. I've also talked with friends who have fundraised large sums of money for other organizations as partners for various races. One suggestion was to host a raffle with entries both in person and virtual. I plan to have a fundraiser gathering this summer where we can host friends and colleagues for a raffle and party to hopefully raise a lot of money.
04/11/2024  I plan to hit up my grandpa and his friends and family. I will also use social media to ask for donations.
04/11/2024  I have fundraised for TCS NYC Marathon in 2018. I plan to use my own funds to raise the minimum required along with reaching out to my community.
04/13/2024  I have raised for Robinhood Foundation as a member of their junior board on a yearly basis.
04/13/2024  I raised over $15K last year riding in the Pan Mass Challenge, I would expect to raise the minimum with little issue
04/13/2024  No experience, will bug friends!
04/15/2024  As an ex collegiate athlete, I have been involved in many fundraising events in connection with my University sporting program. Many of these experiences involved reaching out to friends, families, or hosting events such as 3v3 basketball tournaments or yoga classes where proceeds are contributed to the fundraiser. Fundraising is a great way to connect with individuals and educate them on the charity you are representing.
04/16/2024  I raised $3,500 when I ran the 2023 NYC Marathon and raised $1,000 when I ran the 2024 NYC Half Marathon. I was able to do both through a combination of a supportive personal network and my employer, who has a generous charity donation matching program.
04/16/2024  I ran the 2023 NYC Marathon and raised $3,000. My goal this year would be to raise $5,000.
04/16/2024  I raised over $20K on a team. I plan to use social media and reaching out to friends and family.
04/17/2024  I raised over $11,000 for Boston marathon in 2022. I plan to raffle off tickets and solicit donations for colleagues and friends.
04/17/2024  Last year, I ran the Boston Marathon for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. To reach my $10,000 goal, I customized and mailed over 250 letters to family, friends, and alumni of my Boston College community. My far too generous network helped me surpass my original goal and raise nearly $30,000 for the foundation. In 2021, my mother and I raised $6,000 in under a month for the Parkinson's Foundation "Revolution Spin" event in Albany, NY. We frequently attend Parkinson's Foundation walks/events and enjoy fundraising for the cause when we can. I am entirely confident I can reach the $3,750 fundraising goal for this race and will work hard to do so.
04/18/2024  I do have past fundraising experience -- specifically in high school. Throughout my four years, I held a Service League leadership position where I helped organize and fundraise events for various organizations that bettered the community. Through collaborating with local organizations, community leaders, and my peers, these projects successfully met their goals. I intend to raise my fundraising commitment in a few different ways. Posting and raising awareness through social media is the first way -- planning to encourage family and friends to donate. Next, I will provide donation incentives. For example, large donations will get recognition from me at a specific mile of the marathon they choose (sponsor a mile). I also plan to hold a few small fundraising events such as selling baked goods at my university where the students are always interested in spending small portions of money for food (and even better that it's for charity).
04/18/2024  I have previously raised over 20k for girls in youth sports.. due to my previous athletic history I would use my extensive professional and personal network and utilize my connections from my playing and previous fundraising days to meet the minimum goal.
04/18/2024  I used to volunteer for a nonprofit in the Middle East called Ultimate Peace, where the coaches had to fundraise for their annual summer camp. I plan to use social media and at least one fundraising event at home.
04/19/2024  Support of Family and Friends
04/19/2024  ACA EN ECUADOR, ESTOY TRABAJANDO PARA AYUDAR LO HARIA CON I GRUPO DE ENTRENAMIENTO
04/19/2024  During high school and college, I participated in Dance Marathon each year and was consistently recognized as a top fundraiser. When fundraising for the childrens hospital supported by Dance Marathon, I primarily fundraised by sending personal letters to friends and relatives and doing social media pushes (e.g., running the Marine Corps Marathon and accepting pledges to be collected for each mile I don't walk). Now that I'm working and no longer in school, I imagine that I will focus more on sending personal letters to people asking for their support. The fact that I now have a network of colleagues who would be willing to donate would provide another group of supporters that I did not have in college.
04/20/2024  I have not fundraised in the past. However I am extremely confident in my fundraising ability. First I will be offering babysitting for fundraising donations. My entire very large family are very supportive of me running for Parkinson's disease and plan on donating on both my mom and dad's side of the family. My grandfather passed away while my parents were dating and both sides of my family know the impact it had on them. I have over 15 aunts and uncles who will help donate. I also have the support of my father's business for a donation. I will also be using my own social media for donations. Any donation I do not receive I will donate my own money as the impact of this disease on my family is so large.
04/20/2024  My experience with fundraising has predominately been through clubs & organizations that I was a part of throughout my life. While smaller in scale, I have gone through the process of fundraising for a variety of charities including ACRES, a wild-life protective conservation organization back in my home city. To do so, I relied heavily on my network of friends and family. If given the opportunity, I plan to send a personal email to family and friends - both within my circle as well as my parents and my grandparents' - explaining why I chose to run with Parkinson's Champions, why it is important to me, and most importantly, why this organization matters. Additionally, I will spread a similar message by posting on multiple forms of social media - helping to broaden the reach of individuals I can gain support from. I am confident in my ability to reach the minimum as I've expressed an interest in racing with Parkinson's Champions and many family members & friends have also expressed their desire to donate given the cause & personal nature.
04/20/2024  I ran NYC Marathon for Team For Kids and had to raise money.
04/21/2024  I have run two marathons through LLS before and have leaned on my network to raise funds
04/21/2024  I have an extensive fundraising past over multiple fronts. Walks, runs, cycling events and even a 25 hour hockey game. Some organizations I've raised money for are Michael J Fox Foundation, Dana Farber, CT Challenge, Sunshine Kids and I sit on the Board for DareGreatlyFoundation.org. I plan on leveraging my personal and professional network to surpass my goal. Additionally, I will host a fundraising BBQ where I will provide and cook everything in July.
04/21/2024  I plan on fundraising with the help from family and friend through emails, contacting people through my community, social media, and events.
04/21/2024  I am fairly new to my own fundraising but I've got to start somewhere! I am an Australian model and been living in the US for the past 11 years. Through this, I have gained quite a social media following that I believe would be incredibly beneficial in helping with my fundraising efforts and spreading awareness of your Charity and Parkinson's disease in general. I have also established many close relationships with a variety of brands from health, wellness, fashion, jewellery, restaurant/cafes, workout classes, beauty and haircare that I collaborate with often. I plan to use some of the products from these brands that I get gifted or that I buy often to create a variety of gift baskets that people would buy raffle tickets for. I have also thought about hosting a run club or partnering with some of the workout classes I am close with. Also, maybe some social media challenges- asking my followers things they want me to do/ try for a donation and create a series out of this. These are just some examples :)
04/21/2024  I've done fundraising in the past through family, friends and my work community.
04/21/2024  During college, I was the head of my sorority's dance marathon fundraising team, which raised money for the Children's Miracle Network. We used a variety of methods and events to raise funds and relied on the power of networking and teamwork. In my spare time, I coach a middle school cross country team that has already committed to donating to the cause and matching any donations that I am able to secure on my own. I'm fortunate, that I am able to personally cover the fundraising minimums to ensure that I can contribute to the team without any additional support (although I intend to engage in many fundraising activities so that we can raise as much as possible).
04/21/2024  In the past, I've had significant fundraising experience, particularly through my involvement with EAT (End Allergies Together), where I organized fitness challenges and classes to raise funds for food allergy research. Through these efforts, I successfully raised $5000, demonstrating my ability to mobilize support for a cause I'm passionate about. Additionally, during high school, I engaged in fundraising activities, where I utilized various strategies to achieve fundraising goals. Whether it was through organizing events, leveraging social media platforms, or reaching out to friends and family for support, I learned the importance of creativity, perseverance, and effective communication in fundraising efforts. For the NYC Marathon, I plan to leverage my past fundraising experience and apply similar strategies to raise the minimum required funds. This includes organizing fundraising events, utilizing social media and personal networks to spread awareness and solicit donations, and engaging with potential sponsors and donors who align with the cause. Furthermore, I'm eager to explore new avenues and innovative approaches to fundraising, ensuring that I meet and exceed the fundraising goal for my race.
04/22/2024  I have raised money for Tourette's and last year ran for Good Sports foundation. I work for a global company and have a vast network of clients. I also have very loving and wonderful friends and family that support me. This particular time with it having to do with my mother, this is a challenge i anticipate putting a lot of time, energy and love into fundraising
04/22/2024  I have run several marathons for charity in the past. I have run The Boston Marathon in support of Boston Children's Hospital three times and The London Marathon in support of MenCap. Additionally, I chair a charitable foundation, The Focus Foundation that works with children and their families that suffer from chromosomal anomalies. My goal would be to raise a minimum of $15,000 for Parkinson's.
04/22/2024  The first time I ever *technically* fundraised was by myself and I did chores and odd jobs at the age of 6, to donate money to the animals affected by hurricane katrina. since then, i have participated in a few fundraising events throughout middle school and highschool, even college. For this specifically though I have a few plans. I would like to host art classes at Long Island University (I both work and attend Grad school here for Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling). The cost to attend class would be a donation of a minimum $35 and I would host a few. I would also like to host boxing and strength training classes at the two classes I go to weekly where similarly the cost to attend would be a minimum $35 donation. At each of the three classes, I would have raffles and other fun things to aid in further fundraising. My role is Director of Events, so planning these would be easy as I have the resources! Aside from the classes, I would also fundraise through social media sharing and my many connections across the USA. My dad and I worked in hospitality together and he has a contact list larger than I can scroll for three whole minutes that he could promote to. My mom's co-workers, and our collective friends and family I know could easily get to at least 1500 combined. I will likely be able to raise at least 1,000 and if on the off chance I cannot, I am willing to pay the remainder myself.
04/22/2024  I have worked with charities like PARS Equality Center based in San Jose, CA. I have experience raising money, and live in a very giving community, with many people who would be happy to contribute. I plan meet such people in my community, close family and friends, who support my decision, and will contribute to the cause.
04/22/2024  My immediate family members and I regularly donate to and fundraise for various Parkinson's research efforts, and everyone has agreed to contribute to my race for the coming year! In the event it is necessary, I am comfortable to cover the minimum personally.
04/23/2024  No past fundraising experience and looking to tap, friends family and colleagues.
04/23/2024  I have used social media in the past, as well as company match to raise funds for my races.
04/23/2024  I have done non-partisan political fundraising. I will be using direct mail, text, phone calls, and social media as my methods of communication. If I cannot raise the minimum amount, I will front the remainder from my own pocket.
04/24/2024  Last year I ran with a charity at the Chicago Marathon (2023) and was able to raise the money by asking friends and family for their support.
04/24/2024  I have raised money for another Charity during the Chicago Marathon last year. Friends and family who support me and my connection to the cause donated money and support.
04/24/2024  I don't have any fundraising experience but I am up to the challenge of raising as much as I can.
04/24/2024  I am able to raise money through coworkers and family. Additionally, I can host plant events where proceeds would go towards the charity (family owned plant company).
04/25/2024  Previously, I've successfully fundraised through Facebook, and I'm considering using the platform again for this race. Additionally, I intend to organize a fundraising event at a restaurant where people can show their support. I am confident in my ability to exceed the required fundraising goal.
04/25/2024  I was on a fundraising team in high school for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Student of the Year. I learned to use social media, and reach out to my peers, and hold activities in under to fundraise which is what I would do to meet the minimum fundraising gaol.
04/26/2024  I have been involved in fundraising for my son's preschool I helped to raise over $16,000. I plan on reaching out to my network of friends and family and our school community. I also plan on hosting an event to raise money.
04/26/2024  I have participated in fundraisers for American Cancer Society and will raise the money through the support of my close family, friends and colleagues.
04/27/2024  In 2021 I ran the TCS NYC marathon for the kids and fundraised $2,600. Currently, I work full time in fitness and at a yoga studio that offers donation based classes for special events. I plan to teach a donation class there and tap into my NYC fitness family for support.
04/27/2024  I have fundraised for various things, mostly through social media.
04/27/2024  In the past, I have successfully met a fundraising goal of $1,750 for the Chicago Marathon, where I ran in support of Team GLASA. My approach involved a combination of personal outreach, social media campaigns, and fundraising events. I reached out to friends, family, and colleagues through personalized emails and phone calls, sharing my story and the cause I was supporting. I also utilized social media platforms to broaden my reach, posting regular updates on my training progress and the impact of the donations. For the NYC Marathon, I plan to employ a similar strategy to meet the fundraising minimum. I intend to start early, giving myself ample time to engage with potential donors. I will enhance my social media presence, creating engaging content such as videos and live updates to maintain interest and momentum. Additionally, I am planning to organize a local community event, such as a fun run or a charity night at a local restaurant, to draw support from within my community. These strategies, combined with the lessons learned from my previous fundraising efforts, will help ensure I meet the required fundraising goals for Parkinson's Champions.
04/28/2024  Last year, I ran my first marathon (Boston!) for the Brookline Education Foundation, the school district I work in. I was able to raise just under $9000, and in the process, really surprised myself with my own abilities, both physical and mental! I hosted mini marathons for my students, hosted raffle nights at local bars for teachers, and baked about a million cookies to sell!
04/28/2024  I have completed a number of fundraising events with the National MS Society in Bike MS events as well as the Pan-Mass Challenge and most recently, the London Marathon for GetKidsGoing!. Combined from all events, I have fundraised at least $15,000. I fundraise by self-donation, company match, colleagues, friends & family, social media.
04/29/2024  I have not yet had the opportunity to fundraise for a marathon before, however my plan would be to reach out to prior co-workers, family members, and friends who share my hope for a better quality of life and improved life expectancy for individuals with Parkinson's disease.
04/29/2024  My wife and I will run together and fundraise (with and on behalf of my father) via social media contacts.
04/29/2024  I have done fundraising in the past for other non-profits both by having a role on a Board of Directors and also as a family member who has raised dollars on other walk/run teams. I usually approach my fundraising with an ask to family and friends by utilizing written communication, videos, and social media.
04/29/2024  I have raised money and been involved in multiple different fundraisers throughout my life, most recently and notably running the Boston Marathon for Team Red Cross. My goal was $10,000 and I successfully met this by raising over $11,565 for the Red Cross. This experience is what made me want to run a marathon on a charity team again! I have created a detailed fundraising plan in order to raise money for Parkinson's Champions this year! Overall, I plan to fundraise by both reaching out to my network and educating them about the Parkinson's Foundation and Parkinson's Disease as well as holding fundraising events. Based on the fundraising goal, I will tailor this plan in order to successfully meet the proposed amount while still raising as much money for Parkinson's research as possible. For my personal network, I am counting on donations from my family, friends, my hometown community, the TCU alumni network, American Airlines co-workers, and through social media. For fundraisers I plan on hosting restaurant profit share nights in my town and hosting raffles at town events, both fundraisers that I had great success with for my Boston Marathon fundraising. Additionally, whatever money I have remaining when the deadline approaches I am more than willing to contribute myself in order to meet my goals successfully. A detailed breakdown of my plan is as follows: Personal Donation - $1,000, Parents - $1,000, Siblings - $800, Company Donation Match - $1,000, Family (grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins - 10 families x $100 each) - $1,000, Close Friends (20 x $25+ each) - $500, Acquaintances (college and hometown connections - 20 x $10 each) - $200, Social Media Outreach (20 x $10 each) - $200, American Airlines Co-Workers (50 employees x $10 each) - $500, TCU Community (20 x $10 each) - $200, Restaurant Profit Share Night(s) - $1,000, Golf Event - $1,000, Raffles (50/50 raffle at a town event, reach out to companies asking to donate prizes to raffle off) - $1,000, March Madness Bracket (have 40 friends join for $15, split profits with winner) - $300, Super Bowl Squares (sell 100 squares for $10 each - $50 prize to Q1, $100 for halftime, $50 to Q3, $300 for final score prediction) - $500.
04/29/2024  I was on a dance team in college and fundraised thousands of dollars for our dance performances. I am a co-lead of Anti-Racist Run Club based in San Francisco, CA and have worked towards fundraising for our organization by submitting proposals and working closely with donors to raise awareness and provide funds for our events. I plan on raising the minimum by providing coaching lessons in my community as I am an avid road runner and trail runner. I also plan on starting a fundraiser page and will reach out to friends and family to see if they are able to donate.
04/29/2024  I have a lot of fundraising experience with local schools and churches. I have also participated in a charity race with the leukemia and lymphoma society.
04/29/2024  Yes for the Chicago Parks Foundation for last year in the Chicago marathon. Fundraising can be hard but I was able to get the minimal for Chicago of 1,750, with the support of family and friends. If I am chosen, I would plan to post on all socials I have a very active and I have a very support following and friends and family.
04/29/2024  I have an extensive history with fundraising. I have been on the board of several charity events and galas. I have full confidence in my ability to exceed the fundraising goal because it is a charity I am passionate about and have a personal tie to. I plan to host an event with ticket sales and also reach out to all my family and friends for donations that would come to watch me on the day of the marathon.
04/30/2024  Fundraising has only been a part of my school sports teams, but with my family behind me, I plan to raise above the minimum. Having their support and my grandfathers relatives, I feel like I can really make a positive difference.
04/30/2024  I fundraised with PAWS Chicago for the 2023 Chicago Marathon and it was a great success. I plan to reach out to family, friends, coworkers, and post on social media to raise the minimum for my race.
05/01/2024  During my undergraduate, I served on my sorority's philanthropy chair for 4 consecutive years. As a part of this role, I assisted on our semester fundraisers that included events and public reach out to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In 2023, I ran with JAR of Hope at the Disneyworld Marathon Weekend and was tasked with raising funds for the highest amount as well as a Dopey participant. Although the race is coming up soon, I plan to utilize the power of social media for fundraising campaigns as well as a series of givebacks with local companies. For example, I have done a Krispy Kreme fundraiser in the past and will also be allowing a percentage of my personal paychecks to contribute towards the fundraising goal.
05/01/2024  NA
05/02/2024  Throughout my undergraduate program I was involved in many fundraisers with different organizations. I developed the fundraising chair in the bylaws of an organization I was apart of in order for people to reach minimum goals and push for organizations they want to represent. I have a deep understanding of how to fundraise and how to reach goals for something I'm passionate in. When I'm placed in an opportunity to represent myself and my grandfather I have no doubts in my plan. I have an extremely large community now that I live in New York City and I have been working at both a university and a restaurant. I have people in my life that want to help and we encourage each other to do the right thing. If I'm able to represent Parkinson's Champions I will surpass the minimum goal and continue to raise money up until the last minute. It's about the Parkinson's community that my family has now lived with for years.
05/04/2024  I was a 2015 Man of the Year Candidate with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Atlanta. Over a 10 week period, I raised ~$85,000 and was able to name a research grant in my late cousin's honor. I work in wealth management and have already been told that my office would be supporting any charity I choose (as well as the match the firm grants). I personally plan to contribute significantly as does my family. I feel very comfortable with a goal of $15,000 and potentially much higher.
