12/07/2023  I would like to run the Chicago Marathon with my 24 year old son, who has qualified for the race. He is a lifelong swimmer who moved to Chicago to work for BMO. He started running along Lake Michigan and is good at. His interest in running has renewed my Marathon spirit. Running the Marathon in with my son and in my father's honor would be a very valuable life experience for me. I hope you will consider me.

09/18/2023  I ran my first real race this past year - a half marathon in Seattle - and had a very positive experience. As a new runner (past year), I seriously thought running across the finish line of a HALF marathon would be impossible. And I did it!!! I found the journey difficult at times, extremely difficult at other times, and rewarding (mentally and physically) almost all of the time. I am inspired to continue on this fitness journey and set another seemingly "unattainable" goal for myself, while having the meaning of running to fight my grandpa's Parkinson's add to my motivation. I cannot wait to contribute my time and money to this cause and I hope you will consider me when building the Parkinson's Champions team for 2024. Thank you!

Prior to the pandemic I had major health issues and gained a lot of weight and lost muscle. I turned my health around and lost over 40% body fat. Mom encouraged me to not go backwards. I have a goal to run all 6 majors by the time I am 50 (I turn 45 this year) so that I can receive my 6 star medal. I plan to do this by running all of them as part of charitable teams. I know that my ability to run the 5k or 10k will be a special moment for both of us when I am able to tell him that I ran for him and for the further research, support, and development of those experiencing the effects of Parkinson's disease. My dad is from New York City, and always wanted to run this marathon. Although he has done a marathon, many halfs, and countless other races, he never got into the NYC Marathon. 04/22/2024  Being an addict most of my life I now do a ton of service for the sober community, over the last 8 years I have built an extended family of my choosing that will also support me. I will also be running for them in my head as I do with every accomplishment I now achieve. Cause when my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson that is where and with whom I could cry about it.

04/22/2024  I have had a goal of running the marathon for two years, however, I wanted to wait until I knew I could physically do it, and had a good enough purpose and reason to. I feel like this year is the year and my birthday is October 25th, so I would be doing this not only for my grandpa, but it would be the best birthday gift in the world. I have been struggling with my own mental health lately, and have been dealing with a lot. To run this race would mean the world to me. I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have. I have run and completed the Madison 1/4 marathon, the SF 1/2 marathon and the October 2023 Chicago Full Marathon in under 4 hours.
