Moving Day® is taking place across the country. The event is part of the plan to raise awareness and money for Parkinson’s. Money raised will continue to support education, outreach, respite and more through NPFM. NPF recruited Katie Couric, whose father had Parkinson’s, to help promote Moving Day nationally. NPF also brought onboard national sponsors. Every attendee will receive a gift for participating.
We are planning an exciting day. In 2012, nearly 3,000 people attended Moving Day, including people with Parkinson’s, families, friends, health care professionals and family teams. Again in 2013 we will walk and enjoy music, food, family photos, and activities in the in the Movement Pavilion such as chair exercises, PowerUp and more. If you're walking, you may choose from three paths: 2.5 miles, 1.6 miles or .25 miles. It's a day to walk a little, walk a lot, move in the pavilion. You may even want to dance or listen to music.
Plymouth’s Hilde Center is at 3500 Plymouth Blvd., Plymouth, MN 55447. It's west of Struthers Parkinson’s Center on Highway 55 next to Plymouth City Hall. General parking is available at Lifetime Fitness. The drop off and handicapped parking is on the City Hall lot. We ask that Moving Day Twin Cities participants who do not have trouble walking park at Lifetime. We'll have people and signs to help you find the lots.
The National Parkinson Foundation Minnesota (NPFM) is working to improve the lives of individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their families. We sponsor Parkinson’s-friendly events ro raise money to support Parkinson's education, outreach and other resources. We provide this information to those searching for answers while inspiring others to support the fight against Parkinson’s disease. NPFM is a chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation. For more than a half century, the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) has focused on meeting the needs in the care and treatment of people with Parkinson’s disease. Since 1982, NPF has funded more than $172 million in care, research and support services.
Support a friend or family member and help them reach their Moving Day fundraising goal. You can join their team or make a donation. More.
