Directions: From the junction of Apalachee Parkway and Capital Cirlcle SE, go SOUTH 2.5 miles to Merchants Row Blvd. Then go EAST .7 miles to Moving Day parking on Ivy Green Trail.
There is no registration fee and participants who raise at least $100 will receive a Moving Day T-shirt. Individuals who raise $250 or more are eligible for fabulous incentive prizes.
The North Florida Chapter was originally formed and incorporated under the name of the North Florida Parkinson Awareness Group, Inc., (NFPAG) on November 19, 2005. NFPAG renewed the affiliation with NPF in July of 2011 and officially changed its name to the National Parkinson Foundation North Florida Chapter. In collaboration with the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Parkinson's Center, NPFNF has been a leading community resource for Parkinson disease. The National Parkinson Foundation North Florida Chapter is committed to serving the Parkinson community with services and information through peer-led support groups and educational programs.
The National Parkinson Foundation North Florida chapter is excited to be part of the fundraising initiative cosponsored by the National Parkinson Foundation. Our Moving Day® Walk for Parkinson's in Tallahassee is scheduled for May 18 in the beautiful Southwood residential area. The walking trail winds among wonderful old oak trees and meanders over a bridge or totally around the picturesque lake. Do you want to walk a mile or three miles??
Moving Day® will be a festival of movement, exercise and healthy living embracing the importance of movement for people with Parkinson disease. In our inaugeral walk, we raised over $30,000 and over 200 people were in attendance! Please help us make this year's walk even more successful! The central event will be the Walk for Parkinson's highlighting families and teams that have raised funds from their social circles prior to the Moving Day event. The Movement Pavilion is the focal point for activities designed to inspire and encourage movement!! The entire event promises to provide entertainment, education, good food and fun for all! Mark your calendar for May 18 - 9AM - 1PM and begin to build your Moving Day team today!
